Fit perfectly on 2017 Explorer.

This is a good quality mounting kit. It is very sturdy. I would have given it five stars except for the installation instructions. The screws and washers come in plastic packages. It would have been a much easier installation had these screw and washer packages been identified with the item number from the instruction steps. The mounting brackets have unique part numbers stamped into the metal but the installer is left to figure out which is driver side and which is passenger side. Westin should update their instruction sheet to be a little more helpful to the customer. I do recommend this kit to others.

Easy to install

99% of the kit will fit on your Ford Explorer or a similar vehicle I guess. What I had to do was buy a cutting tool (~$30) from Harbor Freight and shorter the two front T-bolts both length and width wise to get it to fit the forward holes located under the Ford Explorer. This probably could have also worked by installing some heavy duty toggle bolts. The instructions that came with the mount kit were absolutely pathetic. 1) They improperly explain how to remove the rocker panel from a 2017 Ford Explorer, there's a plastic screw holding in place under the rear wheel molding 2) the instructions leave out many steps that are important to the installation 3) the pictures provided are horrible. Amazon and Westin claim this mount kits work for my vehicle, but it does not exactly. Overall, I'm happy with the product, it's built well, put together well, but definitely lacking in the mentioned areas. I wish I could be reimbursed for all the tools and equipment I purchased putting this thing on.

The installation directions are absolutely awful. The pictures are even worse in the directions. And worst of all, hardware was missing. We called Westin directly and they acted like this has happened more than once like it was no big deal. While unpacking the items after delivered, the customer arrived for install. Due to the missing items, we had to postpone our customers appt due to the inconvenience.
