Really great!
I used this product for a ceiling light, manufactured to look better dimmed (really!) It wasn't possible to swap the wall switch for a dimmer, so this was the ideal solution. It worked well, and the facility for setting pre-set light levels or 'scenes' was very useful. Oh, and the dimming is unbelievably smooth.

Works great with LED downlights and DX8 controller
I am using two of these to control a total of 18 dimmable mains LED downlights (from Screwfix). I previously tried another Chinese DIN Rail mounted DMX dimmer, which supposedly used trailing edge dimming, but at anything below about 50% brightness several of the lights flickered. This one has no such problems, and I can now dim my downlights to just the right level - very useful as 18 of them at full blast is remarkably bright!I am using with a DX8 RGBW controller. I am using one of the controller zones and assigning the dimmer outputs to the R,G and B channels so I am able to control my lights in three groups. I could potentially use four groups by using the W channel on the DX8, but this particular controller handles W differently from R,G and B so 3 groups is adequate for my application. One really handy feature is the auto display-off function that can be configured. This turns off the display when buttons have not been pressed for a few seconds - useful in my application because the dimmers are hidden away in a recess and if they had a light or display on all the time, this would be visible.

Some clarity for the product
Bought to replace a similar Varilight product which consistently failed after 18months. And this does. Much more reliable in operation (so far) with neat, selectable pre-sets for dimming. But why is the information supplied so poor? Manufacturers and suppliers need to realise that good, accurate up front information and instructions are essential. This comes with 'pigeon english' instructions that take some thought - but do work - but I'm in the business so have some pre-concept....The sales pitch does not dwell on the push (or as we know it wall on-off switch) but the instructions seem to indicate it is essential. It isn't. The unit works fine as a total remote which is what I wanted and the unit fits neatly into a deep single wall box. However - the remote battery supplied was totally dead, no voltage whatsoever so buy a spare one when you buy the unit CR2032 button battery, and the battery holder in the remote is not precise so when closing the battery cover you are always fighting the battery as it tries to get out! Also there is a noticeable heat output from the unit even on standby so it would be interesting to know the residual power consumption which I will look at and could be high enough to render the unit as non-desirable overall. Watch this space....

An excellent and versatile product
We have two 40 watt ceiling lights which have been connected to a remote dimmer for the last 20 years. The dimmer receiver has finally failed and had to be replaced. I didn't want something that required an App and we do not have Alexa or similar. This little device is marvellous. The remote control is very light, quite compact and has a variety of facilities. Not only does it offer an infinite dimming range but it also has a number of pre-set options offering instant and predictable light levels. When switching on or off it is not an instant on/off, the light change is smooth. Also, the control remembers the last setting used and will switch the lamp(s) back on to the same intensity. All in all an excellent product and I am delighted.

Waste of time
Worked for half an hour then stopped all together. Terrible

Good value : great alternative to standard dimmer switch.
Works really well and remote control good. Very good value indeed. In many ways much better than a standard dimmer switch.

No wiring to a light switch
Switching off and on a light. Did exactly what it said it would do.

Make sure you use a large enough box....
Modern wiring uses push fit connectors (bornes) for all connections...screws are out. This does mean that you can have several bornes, one for each type of connection and that takes room.It would be helpful if the unit had the same type of connections. After wiring, it took a little time to work out what the instructions really meant. However everyhing seems to work well. My unit is used for illuminating an external terrasse and it seems to work well. The two internal switch connections are unused.BTW I would NOT recommend Tungsten or Halogen lamps. The start up surge current is likely blow the unit unless very, very low wattage lamps are used. I suggest that an LED lamp or lamps which are dimable are a better solution.
