This is a lovely little excavation kit that comes with plenty of tools and even some protective glasses too. Inside the plaster is a collection of gemstones and some little dinsosaur figures - there's many possible dinosaurs that you can find since the listing states it's randomly selected from 6, but our little one dug out a couple he was familiar with, such as a Spinosaurus, Brachiosaurus and a Giganotosaurus. He was hoping he would get a Tyrannosaurus but we didn't get lucky enough!The gemstones are a little small but look and feel qutie nice - our little one keeps them safe in a little treasure box in his room. The plaster itself was simple enough to excavate although it does get a bit messy and dusty so it can help to wet it a little. The plaster is also in the shape of a dinosaur head and is coloured too, so it's quite elaborate compared to the more basic and beige plaster based excavation kits we've tried in the past. I recommend it.

Our little one is as into dinosaurs as I was when I was his age and this was a great hit with him to chip away at and find all the gems & dinosaurs contained (these are combined 14 pieces). My sister is an archaeologist and so it also helped him understand her job and ask questions that he wouldn’t have though to have asked prior to using this.The kit itself comes with everything you need from the rock to the chisel and even some safety glasses to prevent any debris from getting in your kid’s eyes. The rock is made from plaster and easy enough to break for even our 6-year-old and the only complaint from him was that it was over so soon! At the current RRP I believe it is OK value and so overall it is something I would recommend as a bit of a different kids toy.

A sizeable and fun activity to keep your little ones busy.I've done a few of these dig kits with my children and this is another great example of what a good one looks like. This set comes with everything that you need to do this activity. Not only the basic tools like a chisel, hammer, brush but also a keepsake bag to have somewhere to store all your exciting finds, a dust cloth to dry and minimise the mess caused and even a magnifying glass to more closely inspect everything.A great little dig kit!

I got the Dinosaur & Gemstone Dig Kit for my kids, and it has been a huge hit! The kit includes 8 real gemstones and 6 dinosaur figures to dig up, providing hours of educational fun. My children enjoyed the hands-on experience and learned a lot about dinosaurs and gemstones in the process. It's well-made, and the tools included are perfect for little hands. Highly recommend this kit for any young aspiring archaeologists!

I was surprised and a little disappointed by the size of this kit. The dimensions given on the seller's page relate to the size of the box containing all of the items. The 'rock' that contains all of the the gemstones and dinosaur models is approximately 12cmx12cmx5cm and so much less impressive than I had expected. Having said that the concept of embedding the finds in the plaster rock to be discovered under supervision by my seven year old nephew I do like. This hands on type of toy reminds me of presents that I was given as a child and appeals as an alternative to contemporary computer games.

This was brilliant fun for my son to dig up. It comes with everything need, including a large plastic mat for limiting the mess and making clean up a bit easier. The little hammer and chisel is very effective.I highly recommend using the spray bottle to keep the plater moist as it makes digging the prized out so much easier, Even damped, it still took hours for my son to dig everything out.There are 6 dinos and 8 gemstones. One of the gemstones we were not sure what it was, but it should be lazurite, however is isn't blue, but grey, so I am unsure if that is what it is. The rest of the gemstone map fairly clearly onto the listed stones in the manual.

A great activity for little ones that like dinosaurs and science. This is a nice hands on activity that my grandson thoroughly enjoyed. It’s a very good STEM activity.
