Environmentally Friendly String
This bobbin of "Jute" string is manufactured from hemp apparently, and is biodegradable which is a tick in one of my boxes although it came wrapped in a plastic which kinda defeats the object. I suppose the plastic wrapping is to protect the stock from damp and bio-degradation when stored in a warehouse over a period of time but it doesn't really add to the "green credentials" of this product. That being said it is a decent bobbin of string perfect for use in the garden for tying your beans to your canes, or wrapping a brown paper package all tied up with string (one of my favourite things). In the words of the late great "Spike Milligan" ...StringString is aVery important thingRope is thickerBut string is quicker

Strong and versatile
I’ve used this twine in the garden to tie back some big plants that were overhanging my path; also to assist my sweet peas when they were growing. It’s proven to be strong, and has lasted well considering all the rain we’ve had in the UK so far this summer. I like the neutral colour, and that it’s thin enough to not detract from the look of the plants. It could definitely also be used to tie packages so is versatile. At £0.04 per metre I think it’s great value for money, and less harmful to the environment than plastic etc. alternatives.

Beats nylon every time.
I was brought up gardening and tending allotments and leaned early on that there's no place for man made fibre sting or twine in a garden. It seldom works as well when wet it isn't biodegradable and it's a danger to wildlife, frankly it's dreadful stuff and I won't have it in my garden, when I was an allotment manager I refused to stock the stuff in my site stores. This Jute twine on the other hand is all natural fibre, stays tied when you tie it and will degrade over time. It's good & strong so it's enough for most uses outside like tying up beans or vine plants, holding canes together etc.It has plenty of other uses, general household string, crafts, anything that need tying really.100m for a fiver isn't bad vlue, certainly comparable to any DIY, craft or hobby shop and better than most.

Perfect for the garden
I got this mainly to tie up my plants in the garden, and it is a good quality twine - made out of 3 strands, each one 1mm thick, to form a twine of 3mm thick. It is nice and strong and does the job.In addition, it is great for crafting - tying on rustic gift tags for presents and for decorating jars.At the current price of £4.59 for 100m I think it is very reasonably priced.

Nice jute string, not too prickly.
I ordered this string for making exfoliating washcloths: these are very effective, last for ages, and compostable when they've done their dash. The ones I make are simple knitted squares, and the knobbliness of the stitches combined with the slight roughness of the jute is a perfect mix for this purpose. I sometimes back them with cotton terry towelling too. They also work wel as pot scrubbers! This is a decent roll of jute twine, as described and pictured, and is just as useful for the garden or decorative purposes as it is for the way I use it. Recommended!
