PEBEO230300 100 ml Studio Gouache Primary Assorted Tubes, Set of 5

Why is it so hard to find gouache in big tubes?? This seems to be the only brand in the whole Internet that comes in tubes bigger than the piddly little 12ml (or 21ml at a push) size. I like to paint portraits and still life using big loose brush strokes and loads of paint (which I realise is perhaps not the traditional way to use gouache), and I just prefer the vibrancy of the colours and the delicious texture you get from gouache compared to acrylics - I find acrylics get "muddy" quite quickly, and no matter how thickly you slap it on, it always dries fairly flat, not retaining the texture of the brushstrokes the way gouache does. So because of this technique, I use a lot of paint. The little 12ml tubes wouldn't know what had hit them. These big Pebeo ones are perfect, in both the size of the tube and the quality of the paint. Really can't go wrong with this paint, cheap and great quality.

Have used it-quakity as expected.

Not used gouache before much so didn’t want to spend the earth - with this set you get good amount of the primary colours so can mix whatever colour you like. They seem like good quality to me - only used them once so far but was very pleased with the result

Das Set habe ich mir als Einsteigerin zugelegt.Ich bin ja so oder so ein Riesenfan von Primärfarben.Das sind generell - so ziemlich - die einzigen Farben, die man wirklich braucht.Der Rest ist Mischen, was das Zeug hält. :)Und mit 5 Tuben á 100 ml kommt man damit auch ein Weilchen hin (je nach Format)Was ist drin?PrimärgelbMagentaCyanWeissSchwarz- Die Farben sind gut deckend und super cremig.- Angenehm in der Verarbeitung.- Sehr gut mischbar und mit Wasser verdünnbar.Gute Gouache-Farben für einen guten Preis !Aber ich bin auch Einsteigerin, was Gouache anbelangt.Ob es was für professionelle Künstler ist, kann ich nicht einschätzen.Für Einsteiger und Anfänger definitiv zu empfehlen.Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist super.

È la prima volta che provo prodotti pebeo. Finora di questo set ho provato solo il colore bianco e ne sono rimasta contenta, poiché anche diluito con acqua è coprente e non lascia i segni del pennello. Mi piace la consistenza.

excellent cheap gouache. perfect for practicing color mixing or familiarizing yourself with gouache without fear of wasting more precious materials. as it isn't as strongly pigmented as artist's grade paint I recommend mixing up rather more of each color you intend to you than you might expect. note that while the "magenta" may look red in the tube, you really will have to use up quite a lot of yellow to get it to look red on the page. as with most gouache, the tinting power of the white and yellow is far less than the other tubes, so be ready for them to run out first.you may be tempted by the many colors available in arteza gouache at a similar price tier, but I don't regret beginning with these; more experience with color mixing is useful in experiencing the medium even if in the long term you expect to work more with flat colors from a tube.
