After several weeks of use I am happy with the purchase. Good wight, sharpness and quality. I was concerned about it at first. I wash them and dry them by hand and have had no issues. Great deal for price.

These knives are awesome! They slice through potatoes like butter. No rusting at all, unlike what some others said. We're really happy with them.

The quality of the knives seem good, sturdy and sharp. The knife block is nice, but the angle of the block makes it stick out on the counter a bit further than I prefer, and the angle also makes it such that I have to move the block forward in order to remove some of the knives to have enough space due to the cabinet above (standard cabinet/counter spacing). I like the knives, so it's okay to deal with. It's more of a minor annoyance.I am disappointed that although the description states that the knives are rust resistant and can be placed in the dishwasher, there is 1 knife that developed 2 small rust spots on the top of the knife after the very first wash in the dishwasher. I hadn't even used the knives yet. I placed the knives on the top 3rd rack of the dishwasher. To be clear, we do have well water, but it is properly softened and goes through an additional iron filter. Both units are brand new. We have a small set of Cutco knives that don't have any rust, and are probably 20 years old. Our other old set of knives on a knife block were on the cheaper end and did rust. After purchasing the new water filtration units we decided to replace that set with this Astercook set. The knives have been through the dishwasher a few more times with no further changes. Hopefully this won't change.
