New Audio Machine

Wide Range, Hard Rock
I didn't know who Trixter was before I saw them in concert a few years ago, and I was blown away by their talent and cohesiveness in concert. I then proceeded to buy their previous albums, and was not disappointed. When I found out they were looking to make new music, I was skeptical, but optimistic.I am blown away by this album. There are clear influences (to me) from Def Leppard, Van Halen, AC/DC, and many others, but not in the least bit rip offs of these groups. This is an original album, that at some times is hard and sleezy, and other times poppy and fun. There is no shame in either. The simple fact is that the performances by each member carries their share of the load, but the songs are much more than just the sum of all of the parts. They are good songs, period.Check that, they are all very good songs, and when you can make an album full of very good songs (and a few are great), that is 5 stars. The production is top notch. I listen to this album more than "A Different Kind of Truth" at this time, which is crazy since I am a VH fanatic, and absolutely love that album. I simply love the range of Pete's voice and Steve's guitar, and the rhythm section of Gus and PJ is solid and dynamic.

New life, for an old band.
To be totally honest, I just never warmed up to Trixter when they first emerged on the scene. And, as with other bands from that time period, I never followed their career, or revisited their music over the years. Well due to an appearance on That Metal Show by guitarist Steve Brown, I decided to see what the reformed Trixter with original members was now bringing to the table. Wow! What a difference thirty years can make, but in a totally positive way. New Audio Machine released in 2012 is a truly solid effort. Steve's guitar tone and playing is spot on. The mix of the entire album (yeah, I still call it that) is excellent, and the sound of the band has matured, but it still retains that heavy guitar 80's vibe that made us like the music in the first place. If you didn't like the hard rock sound of the 80's and early 90's, then chances are you won't like this. But, if you did, and like me just wasn't a fan of Trixter, you need to pick up this latest offering. As with Warrant's latest release, some of these bands are truly getting better with age. Check it out!!

Old is new again
While I will say that I never really listened to Trixter when they were first introduced to the "Hair Band" Scene years ago,I was familiar with "One in a million"and "Give it to me good". I saw them 2 years ago @ RocknAmerica in Oklahoma City and were quite impressed. So after seeing all of the positive reviews on this site,as well as others,I sprung for the download.Needless to say,I was not disappointed with what I've heard. Each song is good,as there are no fillers in the bunch.Tattoos and Misery is an Instant classic, and there are several good tunes throughout to keep the listener involved. If you like good, old style rock'n'roll,80's style, this is for you. If you don't, look elsewhere. Also, hit these guys up on Twitter, they will respond. Good job guys!

Finally, the 80's are back
I remember listening to Trixter as a teen. When I came upon this album, I researched it to find out this is the origional line up from the 80's. I was not disappointed when I listened to the songs for the first time. They didn't lost it even though they haven't recorded together in almost 20 years. This album has a lot of good old Rock-N-Roll music. Check out you tube for the Tatoos And Misery video. So If you love the rock bands from the 80's this is a must for your music collection. And be sure to also check out Warrant Rockaholic and Night Ranger Somewhere In California A couple of other great Rock Albums.

STRAIGHT AHEAD ROCK N' ROLL! JUST LIKE THEY USED TO DO BACK IN THE DAY!
I had my doubts on this new CD seeing we haven't heard from Trixter in YEARS! But I'm going to admit, with 11 new tracks and 1 bonus acoustic track of Heart of Steel, there is not ONE SONG on this 12 song CD that I can say is bad. I don't say that very often I can listen to a CD from start to finish and figure out which songs I am going to skip over, but you won't find it on this CD. Trixter delivers with this one! Favorite song of the 12, GET ON IT.

No trix here, just music from Trixter
There are a few pretty good songs on here, and there are a few that aren't so good. Similar, in that sense, to their debut album. The highlight is definitely the unplugged version of "Heart of Steel".

WOW ! ! ! Was fuer Ueberraschung ! ! !
Geile Riffs! ABSOLUTE KAUFEMPFEHLUNG ! ! !

Old dogs can be taught new Trixters (bad pun I know)
I've always been a fan of Trixter, right from the moment I bought their first album without ever hearing a single song on it before purchase.During the late 80s/early 90s they were one of those bands that were unfairly knocked (much like Winger) as a style over substance band because they were, in the eyes of the jaded writers and readers of the likes of Kerrang etc, a bunch of light weight pretty boys.To actually say this shows a kind of ignorance of the rock and metal genre, and the kind of single minded attitude that many rock fans had back in the day (if you liked Maiden, you couldnt like anything as soft as Poison, and if you liked Bon Jovi, Megadeth was a load of old noise etc).Trixter were one of those bands like Nelson that were not what you would call heavy, but certainly knew how to write hook laden songs that easily stuck in your head. The debut had that hair/glam metal style mixed with a lighter AOR style, which is probably why even the glam and AOR camps seemed to dismiss them somewhat.Of course, anyone with any kind of taste and common sense would look beyond pigeon holing bands and just enjoy a band for their music. I for one was in that camp and thought Trixter stood proudly alongside my favourite bands like Crue, Poison, Warrant & LA Guns etc, all different but all melodic rockers. The second album, Hear was a slap in the face to anyone who called them lightweight. Ok, they didnt suddenly become heavy metallers over night, but they certainly beefed up their sound with something that certainly moved more over into the hair metal camp and away from the lighter AOR stylings.Sadly, this came right around the time Kurt Cobain and his grubby shoe staring cohorts took the world by storm with the aptly named grunge movement, and saw pretty much the death of the 80s hair metal, glam metal, AOR and trad metal scene, or at least sent it into hiding.Trixter recorded an independently released covers album/EP then called it quits.Thankfully though, for years many of these bands still slogged away trying to prove that you didnt have to be miserable to produce rock music, which also paved way for a whole new bunch of bands to come along who owed more to the glory days of the 80s than the gloomy days of the 90s.This has also lead to a whole dearth of older bands reforming with or without original members.Of course this lead to a Trixter reunion back in 2008, which lead to a tour, live album (with two new studio tracks) and a best of compilation. Finally though, in 2012 we finally have an all new studio album.Upon first listen this is certainly a lot more like Hear than it is like the debut, and anyone who was a fan of that album will be totally hooked into this album right from the opening song. The album is full of hooks, as one would expect from the band, and is surprisingly devoid of any modern elements despite the tradition with many of these older bands mixing old with new to create something new. Its also surprising when you consider the output from some of the members since the original demise of the band. The production on here is sterling, and the band sounds like they recorded this almost straight after they finished recording Hear as Pete Loran sounds just as he did back in the day.I do wonder if some of these songs are old reworked demos though, as I know at least one is (strangely though, its not a Trixter demo, but an old Skid Row demo "Walk with a stranger"), but thats no bad thing anyway.Only let down for me is the tacking on of an acoustic version of Heart of steel as a bonus track, as it would have been much nicer to get another new song instead (leave the acoustic songs for EP's and single b-sides please).Overall this album has brought a very big smile to my face, especially after the somewhat underwhelming comeback album from Tyketto which came out at the same time.Welcome back Trixter, lets do this again next year!

少し甘い感じの曲も健在で「Live For The Day」「The Coolest Thing」などが潤いを与えてくれます。
