It works as described. I use this for my deep conditioning treatments and hot oil treatments. It heats up very fast and gets super hot. That is where you must be careful. When I first started using this heat cap I always used the highest heat setting and over time I ended up with severe heat damage. At the time my hair follicles were so clogged that I couldn’t effectively feel the heat. After going through a period of daily washing and clarifying my hair more often to basically detox my hair and scalp, the levels I could tolerate before 8,9, & 10 I can no longer tolerate anymore and it feels way too hot so now I just stick to levels 2 and 3. 5 at max and even thats too hot. So be careful especially if you have high porosity or compromised hair that is prone to damage. Also I see people complaining saying that this doesn’t dry the hair. It’s not a hair dryer it’s supposed to mimic a hair steamer for conditioning treatments. I use it with a plastic cap and then place the heat cap onto my hair. I never put the heat cap directly onto my hair without a plastic cap in between and this is to keep the moisture from evaporating out of my hair. I have type 4 kinky coily hair that is high porosity and I’m still in the process of recovering from the damage but it has gotten sooo much better as I have been cutting off the damaged ends over time. After much research and searching. I settled on this hair steamer. Perfect, does the job intended. Light weight, very durable, perfect size and color was as expected. Super quiet. Heats up perfect.

I needed this! It’s a staple in my hair regimen. I just wish the cord was a little longer and that the heat could be a little more hotter. But other than that I do get a pretty good steam from this. Honestly

Love this steam cap! It's so easy to use and the hair feels so much softer after using it. It plugs into an outlet, so no blow dryer needed. It helps conditioner penetrate the hair strands. Love it.

Be mindful this is not a dryer although I thought-it does dry your hair but not like a dryer--I had it on the highest setting and I had to dry it twice--I am a black lady so I have 4C hair--I do have a hair dryer so I think I might stick with that

Heats up fast and stays hot. I’m glad I bought this for my deep conditioning treatments. It’s not big so it’s easy to store. It’s a keeper.
