## Description

Burdock root is a popular folk remedy, and the fresh root is also a tasty vegetable. It is a superior tonic herb and alterative herb. Burdock has a special affinity for the skin and is used in all types of skin preparations. It also makes a pleasant tasting tea. Botanical Name: Arctium lappa L.Directions: To use as a tea, add 1 tsp. of herb to a tea infuser and place the infuser in a tea cup. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over the infuser. Cover and let steep for 3-5 minutes.Product Notes: Inulin is the most abundant constituent of burdock, being present at up to 45% in the root. Other constituents include mucilage, a tiny bit of essential oil, tannins and a number of plant acids. vOrigin: BulgariaProcessing Notes: Burdock roots are very fiberous, resulting in soft, stringy, cottany type material when cut. This material looks like, and is often mistaken for mouse nesting in the final product. However, it is the innermost part of the root and contains the same constituents as the more woody outer pieces.Organic: QAI Certified OrganicKosher: KSA CertifiedCommon Name: BurdockPlant Part: Root

Review: This came to me sealed tight and extremely fresh. After opening to keep it freshlonger I would advise putting it in an air tight container. This has great health benefits you get a large amount for your money and it is very strong. This packaging appearance nice and straight to the point. Over a great value for your money.
Review: All of these reviews on different teas are mixed together, just so you all know- I'm on the Valerian page, yet I purchased burdock root tea. Burdock doesn't smell or taste especially good, but it's certainly good FOR you. Because it's the root, it works particularly well in a decoction, where it's boiled on a stove top. Burdock is detoxifying and cleansing, as well as nourishing for your kidneys. It's full of nutrients, and can be helpful when used in herbal tonics. As always, I'm disappointed with the cheap unsealable mylar bags from Frontier. However, the quality of the herbs is there. I had to purchase a whole set of Kraft airtight bags just so I can put their herbs into something more secure. This is why I often choose Starwest Botanicals over them if I'm not sure which one to go with. I used this Burdock root in my specialty tea blend, Vitamin C Tea. It contains many nutritious dried herbs and fruits that make it an excellent replacement for sugary juices and sodas. It came out great, and I made many teabags full of it. The tea knocks out a cold or flu immediately, and the burdock is a vital part of the recipe.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these whole flowers or petals?**
A: these are petals for making tea...and it makes excellent Hibiscus tea. For the benefits of hibiscus tea, go to nutritionfacts.org and just type in "hibiscus tea." He even givens you a recipe for increasing the antioxidants, which by the way are several times higher than green tea. I have bought this product twice and it is an excellent product.

**Q: From what country does the peppermint leaf originate?**
A: I've bought this several times, the last about 2 wks ago. The package says that the company is located in Iowa, NOT that it is grown in Iowa. The Amazon page description, above, does NOT say anything about the location where it was grown, and only makes a vaguely generalized and misleading statement about Oregon. I would be happy if it was grown in Iowa or Oregon or in other states in the USA where the word Organic as a small, but larger reputation than out side of the country.
Please Immediately obtain a specific statement from Frontier as to the location/s where this was obtained.

**Q: Does anyone know if it is roasted after dried? or is it just simply dried?**
A: It is simply dried.

**Q: Does anyone know what the country of origin is on these?**
A: In this case the reference is to city of Norway in the state of Iowa where the importer is located. It is shipped from a small country in Western Africa- its area of origin. Hibiscus sabdariffa aka Roselle is a tropical plant and is grown commercially in tropical areas around the world. It can over-winter where I live in San Diego in warm protected areas so I have grown some for fun but not enough for all that I use. It is very popular here and all over the world. I like to add grated fresh ginger, cinnamon and a bit of citrus juice like lemon, lime, orange or tangerine. Enjoy.
