Very happy with it
I bought this seat specifically because it has the lap belt position crotch strap. I haven’t seen any makers other than Britax do this. It makes me feel better when I send my child with grandparents who are not familiar with car seat safety that it increases her chances of being in the seat properly. The crotch strap is adjustable so it can be tightened or loosened to fit your child as they grow. The headrest is also adjustable which means it’s easy to get the shoulder belt properly fitted on the shoulder, not cutting into the neck like some boosters. Unlike the parkway, this seat has 3 levels of side impact protection so it’s a step up in safety. My daughter also stays in the proper position even when asleep.

Good idea in theory, bad in practice.....
I'm surprised that I haven't seen other reviews mention the standout feature of this booster that is puzzling at best - the crotch strap. I understand that this feature is to prevent "submarining" sliding under the lap belt in a collision. But that's partially what a 5pt harness is for. Safety is our top priority, which is why our 9yr old daughter is only now moving to a high backed booster out of her 5pt harness that she outgrew/was expiring. The crotch strap may not be an issue for boys, but she took one look at it and wailed "MOOOOOM! This is essentially a carseat!" And I have to admit, expecting a 9+yr old girl (who wears uniform skirts to school) to have her skirt hiked up to her crotch by this belt positioning crotch strap is a bit unreasonable.I contacted Britax, to be sure that it was ok to remove this crotch strap and was assured by customer service that it was just an "added feature" and was perfectly fine to remove. She originally felt as though she was "strapping myself to a board" in this booster when we originally tried it in our 2012 Honda Odyssey. She was used to the recline of her 5pt harness carseat, so sitting bolt upright in this seat was initially uncomfortable for her until we reclined the actual seat of the vehicle a smidge. So, if you have a vehicle with a more upright seat or one that isn't adjustable, it may not be terribly comfortable for your child. The other fit to vehicle thing to note about this seat in a Honda Odyssey (and I suspect many other vans and 3rd row vehicles) is that in the 3rd row outboard position, the booster headrest cannot extend to it's full 63in height because it hits the sloped roof/side of the vehicle. It still extends higher than other comparable boosters though, and the 10 year expiration is better than others as well.

So Frustrating
I legitimately hate this booster seat. And I love Britax. I swear by it across the board hands down can’t convince me of another brand. Until I got this car seat. It’s well cushioned and has excellent protection, per the Britax name. It also has a wonderful LATCH system and it’s one of the easiest they’ve had. That’s about where my likes stop. There’s no tether on the top. Why? I have no idea. No amount of tightening the LATCH system makes the seat itself feel securely installed. Oh. You’re supposed to use the seatbelt across your child to sort of “anchor” the back piece against the seat, you say? Ok. Yes. That’s the concept when you’re happily driving down the road. However, on the off chance you’re rear ended the seat and your child will just sort of crumble at the waist and bend in half. I pulled my daughter’s arms (not very hard as injury wasn’t the intention of this test) to see how much she would pull forward. Pretty much all the way forward. Sure if the seatbelt catches like it’s “supposed” to in the event of a crash it might secure her back. Maybe. IF it catches. But the main reason I despise this seat, the actual day to day frustration. Britax missed the mark on the actual seatbelt securing. I start getting in a bad mood as soon as we approach the car and I know I’m about to battle the seatbelt. It does not thread through the seatbelt guide easily at all. Your best bet is to get the seatbelt on super loose at first and then go back and make sure the lap belt is across the red guides, then place the lap belt into the crotch piece, and LASTLY get the top of the seatbelt threaded into the shoulder guide. That’s the fun part. It’s designed awkwardly (nothing like her Pioneer that went in and out like butter) and it’s hair pulling trying to keep the slack in the seatbelt to fold and wiggle it in there. The whole seatbelt also twists and turns as soon as you release the actual seatbelt when it’s time to get out of the car. So you have no choice but to start from square one every. single. time. you. get. out. of. the. car.In fact, I’m writing this review after a day of errand running and I’m half tempted to throw my 6 year old in the floorboard and hope for the best at this point because my sanity is on the brink with this car seat.Since that’s not an ACTUAL option I have instead started the return process on this aggravating piece of plastic, will hook her Pioneer back up for now as she still has about 6 lbs to go before the harness is no good for her, and in the meantime will look into the Frontier which has a 90 lb harness weight capacity, which makes me feel happy she’s nice and secure and we can go back to quickly in and out of the car.I haven’t given up on you, Britax. But this one needs to get shelved.

If You're Not in a Hurry, Great Seat
The safety and pretty seat cover that comes with this seat is really all I like about it. Our five year old has an easier time buckling and unbuckling her Recaro Proride five point harness seat. The lapbelt positioner on the Britax Highride is cumbersome to align, the shoulder strap gets caught, and after all that, it's a mess for our daughter to buckle in herself. The point of buying this seat was to have a safe graduate seat that would be easy for our daughter to manuever when going through the drop off line at school. Not a chance, I will definitely be the crazy mom doing a fire drill around the car to get her unbuckled before the parents behind me start muttering fake curse words, or real ones depending on how long it takes me to take that lapbelt positioner off, unbuckle her, plant safely on the curb and run back around the car. Maybe I should find a parking space? Yay for safety! Boo for its non user friendy/timeliness/successful school drop off.

Still love Britax - comfort and safety top notch!
I am a firm believer of buying Britax, used with with all 3 of my children. Unfortunately, I replaced my Britax Parkway SGL with the Britax Highpoint (after a car accident) and it is very difficult to get the seat belt tight around my daughter and the belt positioning clip is difficult to use. We did not have any issues with the Parkway SGL. Still love the safety, the look, and the comfort of the new Highpoint but more difficult to use.
