Instrument kind, stable, easy to transport.
So... 1: it's kind to your guitar, with little chance that you'll mark it, when putting it on or taking it off the stand. 2: It's stable, it won't tip over; and uses a non slip material to help keep the instrument in place. 3: It's strong but lightweight and folds flat for easy transport, but "locks" open in use, if you are gigging. I have several now...I use a couple in ny lounge where they hold acoustic guitars, but remain unobtrusive.

Better than the other budget stands on Amazon
I have something like a half dozen budget "A Frame" stands for guitars and this is easily the best of them. It's got a good weight to it, it's nicely designed and it's well-constructed. For about £10 you can get a few different stands like this. They will mostly be variations on a couple of recurring designs - one metal and one all-plastic. All of them work in the sense of holding a guitar upright. Most of them are more secure than you might think, as well. I have one of the folding plastic stands which won't fall over even if you shove into it. I hate it, though, it's wobbly and cheap. This stand is better constructed, with better material throughout. It looks better, it takes up less space, it's much more sturdy. If you find yourself comparing £10 stands and this one (£15), buy this in a heartbeat. This is a "real" guitar stand which wouldn't be out of place in a professional setting.

Sturdy and safe
Nice guitar stand. Holds my guitar nicely and very robust

Great travel stand.
Well-designed and sturdy, and fits my 17" archtop. I'm v happy with it, but the geometry and lower total height means the guitar feels less resistant to being pushed over backwards than my heavier metal one at home. My guitar has been fine on it, so I may be worrying unnecessarily. It's perfect for taking to rehearsal, as it's not too heavy and folds super flat. Not sure I'll leave my guitar on this stand while band mates are wandering around between sets though, just in case.

Well made, easy to use.
Well designed and manufactured product. Ideal for home use. Been using them for years with no problems. Nothing stopping you using them for gigs as they are very quick to fold flat, but as it's not the type with neck support it depends on how clumsy your hand mates are. I have several of these stands and even use them for sitting small amps on as well as guitars. Great.

Holds guitar stable, looks good, decent price. Rubber padding not perfectly symmetrical
Using with a Gibson SG. I have one of the Hercules GS402B Mini Guitar Stands, and the hooked cradles which hold the guitar come very close or even able to touch the knobs on the SG, which might damage it eventually. This has more clearance and there is no way the cradle part will touch the knobs. I also don't like the plastic ends on the Hercules padding, which might scratch the guitar. This might be more stable and the footprint is slightly smaller, although the guitar is held at roughly the same angle as the Hercules stand. The rubber is grippy so the guitar can sit slightly more upright or at an angle with the bottom edge pressed against the edge of the stand's cradle. Easy to set up and break down - quicker than the Hercules. The only gripe is the stand does not seem to be perfectly symmetrical at the two edges of the cradle, so I can either have the guitar upright and pressing against both of the back rest contact points, or fully pressed against the bottom contact points at the edge, but then only one back contact point touches. I tried two of these and both had the same issue. But other than that, very good.

Works well
I wasn't sure whether to buy the taller type of stand with a neck rest, or one of these low things. In fact this is fine, and holds an electric guitar stably. The base can be adjusted for width, which is important if your guitar has knobs near the edge so the padded prongs don't hit anything. My Ibanez semi hollow also has a fairly bulky Bigsby tremolo arm on it which extends right to the edge, but this also fits on the stand without a problem.Since this proved a success, I went on to buy the bigger acoustic version, which also works well.Re the colour, some people might prefer black. The cork is embedded in a plastic matrix, so it basically just looks brown rather than some attractive cork colour. However once there's an instrument on it you don't really notice the stand, so the colour doesn't matter.

Superb Guitar stand with non-marring cork
I have FIVE of these, some acoustic (wider bottom "shelf"), some electric. They are all excellent. Certainly compact when folded - but I always keep my guitars out and ready to grab. Have had no problems with guitar finish reacting with the cork/rubber surfaces. However, none of my guitars have anything fancy like nitrocellulose or french polish. Just standard durable poly of some sort. These feel more stable to me than the traditional black stand I have with the two padded pipes on the bottom and padded U-shaped stirrup pipe for the neck. Either type can be knocked over if you're talented enough.

Even wennen.
Standaard is goed en stabiel, maar ik moet er aan wennen dat ik de gitaar en standaard niet tegelijk kan oppakken met een hand bij b.v stofzuigen.
