Great product! Perfect for calming acid reflux or indigestion. 1/8t does it for me. Better than taking OTC meds with all the other garbage in them, when Cal Carb is the active ingredient.

I saw a recipe for tomato-based chili that used baking soda to reduce acidity for people with sensitive stomachs. Sodium bicarb does reduce acid but tastes awful, so I got calcium carbonate instead because I knew it wouldn't make my chili taste like a mouthful of dirty pennies. You must use less CC than sodium bicarb (maybe less than half the amount), and it takes a bit longer to react and dissolve, but you'd never know it was in there by the flavor. Another benefit is that it supplements your food with calcium, instead of adding more sodium like baking soda will. And it will make your food taste sweeter without adding more sugar. I highly recommend CC for reducing acid in your food. If you use this though you just need to keep in mind a couple of things: 1) When trying it for the first time, add it to your food in very VERY small amounts, and wait for it to work, then taste it again. Before you realize it you can totally neutralize the acid in your food with this, and that's not usually a good thing. 2) Acidity makes a good preservative, so reducing the acid of food also can reduce its 'shelf' life dramatically. Be prepared to eat it all or freeze your leftovers. The product itself is a SUPER fine, pure white powder. Assuming these are industrially purified and formed calcium carbonate crystals, they are tiny; maybe 2-5 microns. That's good because they dissolve best, but It's SO fine that if you were to take a pinch of it to add to your food, you will have trouble getting it off of your fingers. It doesn't dissolve in plain water, and just running your hands under the tap won't get it. I recommend using utensils to handle it. I find that just scooping up a bit on the tip of my table knife and dipping it in my orange juice and stirring it vigorously works best. I bought this for cooking and baking, but I've also found that its mildly abrasive properties and very fine texture are great as a polishing compound for everything from stainless steel, to teeth.

Product arrived well packaged and exactly as described. Clean, fine powder and easy to use. No issues at all. Does what it’s supposed to do and I’m happy with the quality. Would repurchase.
