Rocky Jr
I enjoyed this movie. Lots of struggles from all angles. It felt like I got Rocky 1-4 in different pieces throughout the movie. I liked that it wasn't just one climax. It kept giving you more surprises.

Good enough movie to kill time
Movie plot moves quickly. Story line predictable but doesn’t feel like a complete waste of time after watching.

So far...
I am still figuring out my set up. I have an Epson projector and a 103" screen, including a 7.1 Bose Speakers set up that also has Klipsch Atmos Height speakers. And an LG 55" TV(2012 is when I started saving up and buying all my A/V equipment - I am not made of money either people) which has acceptable enough speakers to play my games. Now, I watch all my movies through my projector which is "only" 1080p, I say "only" because 10 minutes in to 'Gladiator' and I am already noticing huge differences - the blacks are very black, and the scene before Russell Crowe's side light the arrows on fire looks spectacular with all the surrounding-and-rising smoke, darks in the soldiers armour(helmets and chain metal) blew me away. I am going to compare it with my 4K TV. Buy this 4K version people, if you only have a 1080p device just adjust the contrast and brightness levels(which is what I did). If, you like what you read on professional review sites - they ARE TELLING the TRUTH!!!As for the audio, it sounds just as good, you can hear horses galloping to your right. I even looked to my right, remember I ONLY watched 10 minutes, but all of the 'really happened' fight scenes in the Colosseum(the correct spelling people - it annoys when people don't spell check when they are ALREADY ON THE NET!?????!) will sound spectacular if they made horses-galloping-at the-beginning-of-the-movie sound damn good. Buy THIS upgrade even if you own the 1080p.*Edit 6/19/18: I watched more than a few scenes from this movie on my 55" LG 4K TV. This movie is beautiful, The scene I skipped to first was the Soldiers igniting the arrows with smoke billowing all around - it is a little too dark to see fine details, better through my projector. Scene 2: was the 'being told they are there to fight and die so he can win money' - VERY dark with no detail in the 'no sun light is coming in at this part of the room'. Scene 3 was for SQ comparing: the first fight scene when one of the gladiators already in the arena is swinging a mace, very weak and my Surround Sound is a huge difference with me wondering what that swooshing sound was? AND... me even looking up to BOTH of my height speakers, the TV speakers ***barely*** have any sound coming through - no swooshing.Buy this copy just for the PQ alone, just don't Calibrate too much of the brightness level on your TV as it will be too dark. This movie looks excellent in the 4K format with SQ ONLY frightening if you have Surround Sound equipment. But, It is not like you don't know what certain set pieces sound like when they are getting utilized in an action sequence, meaning do not blow the speakers on your TV. The dialogue is clear no matter what your AV equipment is, though.

4K is Awesome
This movie has been around forever (20 years now) and there is not much to be said about it. I must admit that when I found out that 12 different stunt doubles were used for Russel Crowe's role, my opinion of him as an actor went way down! I recently went to 4K and comparing BD to 4K is almost the same transition of going from DVD to BD. I am impressed that the movie had enough quality that using 4K is actually warranted. The colors are a bit more vibrant and overall it was a more immersive experience. It was well worth the price.
