The game streaming champion!
I bought this for a very specific use case, but overall was very surprised to find a super capable tablet that's a joy to use! An absolute steal at the £250 sale price I bought it for.Title mentions it use. Specifically I bought this for game streaming over the LAN from my gaming PC upstairs to the living room downstairs. So the wife and I can hang out together when she would prefer to watch the TV and I prefer to hop on games.I picked this tablet for that purpose because it's display has specs which closely resemble a capable gaming monitor. The tablet has a 144hz display at 2944 x 1840 pixels which is 16:10 aspect ratio at 12.7 inches. The brightness isn't eye-searing, but good enough to use indoors. And the display looks pretty great I guess, bare in mind I'm not as sensitive to colour accuracy and contrast as other people. But it looks sharp, vibrant and crisp to my eyes. Obviously not as amazing as an OLED where the difference is obvious, but nice to look at regardless and certainly does the job of making games look impressive.Using the Moonlight app on the tablet, and a version of the Sunshine streaming app called Apollo on PC. You can configure a virtual display device matching the tablet specs, to launch on the host PC when the tablet connects to stream. This enables the host PC to output the exact frame rate and resolution as the tablet. A huge benefit of the display being 16:10 is that it's (often) a commonly supported ratio used by PC games. So you can make use of the entire screen with no black bars. However, bare in mind that this is of course NOT a Gsync or freesync device. So to truly benefit you will need your games to run at a locked 144hz (or a division of it, such as 72hz). The only downside when compared to a purpose built gaming monitor. So as long as your LAN connection is fast and strong enough, and you have a capable PC, you can achieve high refresh rate gaming at 2k resolution from anywhere in the house. And since it's a tablet which you view closer to your face than a monitor, the size of the display while smaller on paper is just as immersive as a gaming monitor. It's was a little fiddly to set up. But after running some tests and tweaks, I have been able to get flawless performance from the tablet as a game streaming client. But wait, there's more! Since google makes it easy nowadays I configured the tablet for general use. And for this purpose it's super snappy also. The initial downloading of apps and updates slowed the tablet a little initially, but after it was set up the tablet runs apps without a hitch in sight. In fact, I find myself putting my phone down and picking this up when sitting in the living room, since browsing Reddit, or checking emails is much better on a larger screen.Overall, the cost of £250 (on sale) is not much more than you'd spend on a gaming monitor with similar specs. The fact that this is also a fully functioning tablet with all the benefits of that also, is a huge win in my book.Happy happy with my buy!

A good tablet when there are no faults.
This Lenovo P12 tablet is a replacement for an identical tablet that developed a screen display fault within the first few days of use. The fault was a straight black line accross the screen which was not rectified even by a Factory Reset. These kind of hardware faults can appear unexpectedly on any Tablet for no known reason.I am most grateful to Amazon for excellent customer service and speedy replacement of the Tablet.First impression of the Tablet is that it looks and feels like good quality in the hand, and looks bigger than the average 10.5 screen. The screen size is perfect for displaying my violin sheet music as the screen size is equivalent to an A4 paper sheet music without margins. The Lenovo P12 tablet has an anti-reflective screen which means you're not staring at your reflection and can view the tablet in bright sunshine. The 3K screen means that movies are in high resolution and the excellent audio when using headphones gives a great cinematic experience. The built-in speakers sound good on their own. There are many useful Lenovo features in this Tablet that at are additional to the Android 16 software. The Pen and handwriting recognition are excellent, and great for doodling.I'm a musician and use the pen for annotating sheet music PDFs.I have a sheet music Bluetooth page turner pedal that works perfectly with the tablet. However, there are very few Microphone stand Tablet holders that will hold the Tablet in landscape mode with support on the lower edge. I therefore adapted a holder by adding support for the lower edge of the Tablet to prevent it slipping and falling on the floor. And also added a couple of cable ties to prevent the Tablet rotating and falling out the holder. It's really important to ensure that the Tablet is held securely in any holder.Amazon do sell Lenovo mic stand Tablet holders for the P12 but they are very expensive.(I also bought a protective case and screen protector but these won't prevent the screen. breaking if the P12 lands from a height on concrete). The Tablet is very slim but sturdy, and has a glass screen rather than plastic. There is an SD card slot which I use to store backups of sheet music and backing tracks, just in case a fault develops and the Tablet requires to be replaced. When first configuring the Tablet there is an option to transfer data from another Android device, which makes the Tablet setup and configuration process much faster. As with most Tablets these days, there's no earphone socket, which is not a deal breaker as I use Bluetooth headphones with Bluetooth 5 and have no problems with latency. You can also buy a USB C to TRRS jack plug on Amazon if you need a cable connection to headphones or to Amp/speakers, (which I use to play backing tracks / accompaniment when I'm busking with electric violin).Battery life is good as long as your not screen mirroring, which drains the battery much faster.I would award the p12, 5 stars were it not for faults that I experienced on the P11 (battery charging fault) and a screen fault on the previous P12. I award 4 stars because the Tablet generally performs well.

The best tablet in its price range.
Its a great tablet!. With its big, beautiful screen, long battery life, and powerful processor, it's perfect for everything from watching movies to working on the go. The matt screen edition make the screen more crispier. Plus, the stylus make it a versatile tool for productivity. If you're looking for a reliable and affordable tablet, the Tab P12 is definitely worth considering. It it also very kids friendly.
