Best DVR I’ve had. My previous one wouldn’t stop beeping and causing me issues with the HDD. This was very easy to set up and the picture quality is spot on. Totally rate this 10 / 10. 100% recommend. The app is easy to download. No trouble experienced. Very happy customer. Thank you 👍🏻

I got this as a repair for an oem cctv dvr box that was broken and out of warranty.We had a 2TB 3.5 inch hard drive lying around from an unused large external hard drive so I scavenged it out to use with this cctv box.The sata and power connection leads were supplied in the box and the hard drive (not supplied) was easy to fit. I only needed a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the outer case and install the hard drive. The connections were all easy to identify.PS for anyone else struggling with the Wizard. It's Chinese and great if a touch hard to follow. There is a section that asked for a verification code. It needs a unique encryption key so the video stream is encrypted and only someone with the key can then decode it. Use any digits 0 to 9 and put the same digits in the remote viewing software or app. If on PC use Internet explorer. Other browsers didn't show the local tab on the dvr website to set the encryption key to decrypt the video stream.Hope that helps. I had fun finding it out. 😂

Does exactly what we need it to do. It can’t be firmware upgraded and it is fairly basic, but for a simple home setup it’s perfect for its price (£45) at time of writing.

I have had many DVR's in the past and most of them have been a complete pain to use then I bought HiLook one and its great easy to setup and navigate through the options, watch playback, transfer recordings from system to usb stick, easy to setup for viewing on my phone for when I am away from the property but was a total pain when it came to getting it setup on the computer.No clear instructions on how to setup the software no clear information anywhere, one small snippet from some obscure person using the same software on youtube helped me after days of sifting through videos, if it was not for that I would of given it 5 stars, I eventually got the software on the computer working only after days of utter frustration, nearly at one point thinking I had made a mistake buying the system and looking at returning it.But after all of that it is the best DVR I have purchased, easy enough to setup and use with my phones which I wanted.

No instruction on how to download recordings and the really quite pathetic tech support weren't interested. I missed the return date but then decided that if I need to save an "event", I'll just move the hard disk to a PC and extract the relevant files manually.It produces barely reasonable quality images but it's very far from intuitive to set up & I advise anyone in need of a DVR to buy something less cheap and not so cheerful. It's rubbish

Needs a Hard Drive (as advertised) and great value DVR if you have a spare HD around.Very easy to setup and software is good enough for most.

I found this HiLook box very easy to install. Installed a hard disk 1TB from my old HiKvision box. Connected to cameras followed the setup instructions and was up and working within 10 mins. Much quieter than the old HiKvision box.
