a wonderful English resource to a unique setting
I only read and speak English and I'm from the United States and have been interested in The Dark Eye for a long time, even though resources were scarce. Finally, I can get my hands on an accessible guide to Aventuria! The most interesting thing to me is that unlike the insanely crunch heavy rulebook, this is almost entirely fluff. There are overviews of the various nations, the climate, religion, notable locations, and notable NPC's. I know there's a infinitely more out there in the German speaking world, but I'm very thankful to finally get a hard glimpse of it. I'd almost go as far as saying that this campaign guide is system agnostic. I feel the majority of it could easily be used as a DM resource for a Dungeons & Dragons game. This is definitely one of the best campaign setting books I have read in the past 10 years. I HIGHLY recommend it if you are interested at all in the setting, even if the rule heavy game itself has put you off.

Great book, rough shipping
Absolutely beautiful book for a great price. Lavishly illustrated and with all the minutia you could want (except more NPC stats, which I would have liked more of). Shipping was fast.My only problem and the reason I went with 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bubble shipping envelope didn't do an awesome job and several book corners and the cover are either dinged up or bent. Most of them are minor and someone less nitpicky might not even notice--it just looks like a book that's spent some time at the table (although I'm sure it's new). Nothing that will impact the book or its use, so I'm going to keep it, but in the future--please package this a little better!

Crap product
Book bent in half and no maps when delivered, damage was not because of delivery, other books in the same box were fine.
