61117 1/48 Messerschmitt BF 109 G-6 Plastic Model Airplane Kit

Well Tamyia, You have done it again. this kit had a lot of detail with absolutely no flash! Parts fit perfectly without any modifications. The Enginering Department at Tamiya is the best in the industry. from detail to easy and enjoyability of assembly. By far the Best BF109 Kit on the market!

This model is seriously a work of art. The fitment was perfect and everything went together great. I am 13 now and got it for Christmas when I was 12 and this was my first model. Looking at other brands like Revel, this model is much higher quality. Ive heard so many great things about Tamiya and they are 100% true. I am semi-new to modeling but I know what im doing. I did this entire model without an airbrush or spraypaint. I didnt do a super historical paint job, but was aiming for eastern front ~1943. I got some ICM German ground crew to go with it and im finshing them up. The engine and cockpit are proably the main reason to get this model- great detail for the scale and easy to assemble on top of that. The instuctions are really great too and you just need some peace and quiet to get everything how you want. The only issue I had while building was the foot peddals; these are very small and can get lost and the way they go on is frustrating. Other than that, it went together very nicely. I painted this model in this order: assemble the whole cockpit and engine (At their appropriate times of course) but only start painting when fully assembled. Its much easier this way and faster. Ok so the decals. Wow there was quite a lot. Most I didnt use, but there was plenty of very small decals for extremists to make the plane look look like a shrunk down, real BF109. There is also 2 swastikas which is a nice addition to add some extra realism. I used Mirco Sol and Micro Set to apply he decals and they were very high quality feeling and they sure acted like it to. None ripped and everything went smooth. I painted the everything in Vallejo model colors and they were nice to. Chipping and a pin wash finished this one off. 2 matte clear coats sealed all this in. Planning on making a diorama soon. So this model was a blast and combined with great detail, easy instructions and it being a BF109, this plane is simply awesome. Dont be affraid as this is much easier than they make it out to be, so begginers like me can have a fun and easy time! Overall, I would rate it 100/10 if I could and will deffinetly buy from Tamiya again!!!

I thought it was a very detailed model. I found the engine particularly detailed. I had a problem getting it to fit into the engine compartment though. I found I had to mix paints to get the colors for this model. My Luftwaffe grey purple was a bit too purple. I liked the idea of not gluing the engine top and front canopy on because it allows you to view all of the details. Over all I liked my result

The kit comes with a great variety of display options, like landing gear up or down, position of aero control surfaces and engine cover open/closed, etc. The engine covers are also magnetized so that it can be displayed either way after building. I used a set of custom decals on mine because I was building a specific subject that the kit decals didn't portray. The ones in the pictures aren't the ones from the kit. (Mine depict the fighter flown by Franz Stigler in the Charlie Brown incident.) Great kit, and highly recommended. Maybe not the best for beginners but still easy to build and the parts fit great.

This model has lots of pieces and took a long time just to get started with a 9 year old boy who wants to be on the computer. later that night we saw a Youtube video of an older pro gentleman with one of these models and he must have spent 60 hours... that was an excellent video and now I know what it could take if I want perfect museum quality. And buy the recommended cement.

Tamiya kits are very accurate and always of excellent quality! Tamiya employees who sculpt the figures are some of the best in the industry!

its a excellent kit. excellent fit and details. if its your first time and you get this kit,read the instructions several times because there are a few variations. fit the parts first and understand what goes were and then glue. happy modeling

Another fantastic model from Tamiya. Love everything about it. Problem was that Amazon delivered it without ANY additional packaging. That's right, the model was sitting on the front stoop with no protection what-so-ever. What the hell, Amazon? Take some pride in your work. Models from other sites arrive with more care. Will use them in the future.

Il modello in questione e quanto di meglio esista in questa scala (1/48 ) . Unisce facilità di costruzione con un ottimo livello di dettaglio e con un tocco di interattività ( si puo lasciare in vista il motore oppure chiuderlo con le cofanature ) questo denota il livello davvero alto nella progettazione e precisione degli stampi . Tamiya ad ogni nuova uscita di un kit alza l'asticella della qualità e questo da un'enorme soddisfazione al cliente perchè sia nel montaggio che nel risultato finale ci si ritrova conqualcosa di migliore rispetto ad altri kit meno innovativi. Da vecchio modellista consiglio l'acquisto a modellisti abbastanza esperti per per la difficoltà di montaggio ,ma per non sprecare soldi su qualcosa di costoso che potrebbe non riuscire bene . Amazon veloce e perfetta .
