Silent Ball Catch, Adjustable Strong Magnet Door Catch，Using Noise Free, Replacing Door Ball Catch, with Identical Installation Dimension(2 Pack, Black)

My old ball and spring door latch broke a couple of weeks ago, and while searching for a replacement this option poped up. I LOVE the fact that it is magnetic, so no more fighting with the ball and spring when it comes loose. It took a couple of weeks to get here, but it is so worth it.Super easy to install, took me 5 minutes to take down the old hardware and screw the new hardware in. It does not come with instructions, but the whole process is very easy to figure out.I am surprised no more companies are making these, it is such a smart concept.

Worked great, well priced. Took one star off because whoever is selling these can’t tell black from silver. Pics on Amazon have them mislabeled, I ordered silver and received black. Oh well.The magnets are strong - the travel up and down in a sleeve, so when the magnet hits the metal bit in the door frame it does make a loud click - still a better noise than the grinding of a ball catch. When you open the door the magnet will scrape on the door frame plate it’s attracted to, the black ones will show a silver scratch pretty quickly. Not a big deal.

We bought a new house last year, and the ball catches on our closet doors have driven me crazy ever since. I turned them down to make the connection softer, but they keep coming back up. Even when I turn them down, the doors have been difficult to open and they make a lot of noise. I tried coming up with my own magnetic creation in combination with the ball catch, but that didn't work like I hoped. This magnetic door catch is awesome... it is quieter when you close the door AND when you open the door. I am very happy with it. I bought one 4pk to try it, and bought a second 4pk after that. I forgot about one closet so I will be buying a third 4pk so I can finally feel at peace! :-). Highly recommend it!

Bought item to reduce noise from door shutting. It is quieter but still has a click when the magnet touches to keep door shut. Think of putting a thin strip of moleskin on magnet to reduce noise even more. Our boys love to shut the doors loudly so they were surprised when I secretly changed to these. They worked great. Easy install. Worth it!

The product was presented as being able to directly replace bullet catches. It does not. It is smaller and will require too much work to fit. Also it was shipped with a little card that thanked me for my purchase but there were no instructions on assembling the latches and adjusting them. I think that for something like this I will go to a real hardware store.

The media could not be loaded.  These are working fine for some french doors we have. The magnets hold the doors fine after I messed around with the installation a bit. Seems much better than the old ball and catch thing we had that drove my wife crazy and never seemed to work right. I'm hoping these continue working well... don't see why anything should change as nothing really moves with it.One big tip - there are 2 ways to adjust how much it sticks out. You can adjust the magnet inside the brass colored cylinder (using a flat head screwdriver), and you can adjust the cylinder inside the black installation plate by turning or screwing it in. It doesn't come with any instructions, and at first, these weren't holding the door at all for me, but it was because I was only adjusting the cylinder in the black plate - the magnet inside was slightly recessed and wasn't touching the frame plate. After adjusting the magnet to stick out with a screwdriver - (the first one I did was very hard to turn but after taking it apart and figuring out how it worked, I was able to get it how I wanted it - the 2nd one turned easily) the magnet started making contact with the frame plate and held the door.These are definitely not silent for me - you can hear in the video. The magnet moves around a little bit in the cylinder and clicks when it connects to the frame plate. And as someone else commented, this means it does scratch the black frame plate. But no biggie for me - the old thing we had was all scratched up too, and was also much noisier - this thing sort of has a satisfying click to it. If you had a light door or cabinet, you might be able to use tape or felt to silence/protect it. But for it to hold the doors for me, the magnet had to make contact with the frame plate and then that friction was what held the door.One slight annoyance- I couldn't adjust the height of the magnet once it's installed. You have to take it back apart to adjust. So it was a little trial and error a few times for me to get it right.

Bought these to replace the ball catch pair that would not work on my pantry doors due to too small of a gap at the top which made for a hard and loud closure. Super easy to install (had to put 2 screws in each door to hold the door magnet in place) and are a great replacement. Smooth and have enough hold to keep the doors in place.

No more stuck doors because of ball and catch. Magnets works great! Adjustable for my slightly uneven doors. Quick and easy to install.
