It seems to be a faulty item
Unless you've used a staple gun before the instructions are poor to say the least. I'm still not sure mine is working properly but here goes. To load the spring/firing mechanism you have to pull the "trigger", i.e. the part you squeeze, back. It's then a bit vague whether or not you squeeze the trigger or not. Some say in the reviews it's easy to fire the staple but I'm a 6' 2" man who weighs over 23 st and I've got a strong grip but this needed two hands to fire the staple. This of course made it tricky to hold in place. Sometimes, well often, it just doesn't fire the staple so the number I wasted as they fell to the floor was I'd guess 60%. I cannot believe that this tool is functioning properly because I really doubt most people could get it to work so I'll contact Tacwise and failing a response it's a call to Amazon to ask for a refund. By the way the lever isn't mentioned at all and I guessed it was to do with the force the staple is fired. However whichever position it's in seems to make no difference. Well no difference when it works.

Good quality staple gun. Instructions would have helped.
It took me ages to choose the right staple gun. Everyone I asked recommended Tacwise, but they have a bewildering range of products that all seem very similar, and the prices seem to be all over the place (this 4-in-1 was cheaper than many of the single-purpose ones, for example).I settled on this one because it supports a wider range of staple sizes than all the alternatives. Even though I bought this for putting in CT60 (small curved) staples, I like keeping my options open. Indeed, they helpfully supply a range of staples/nails in the packaging to get you started, which is a nice touch. Please note that the instructions are extremely minimal - the packet just tells you to refer to the staple gun, where you will find some tiny pictures. It took me a while to decipher these, so for the benefit of others:- To load the staples/tacks, you turn the unit upside down, pull back the black loading bar, and lay the staples *in front* of the bar. This is different to a desktop stapler, where the staples go *in* the bar, and so it confused me for a good ten minutes or so.- If you look closely at the bottom of the loading bar, you'll see a little arrow pointing to the left side. This indicates that you are supposed to let the staples/tacks rest against the left of the chamber. Yes, the staples are unsupported until the bar is closed, and yes, this is normal.- The plus/minus lever adjusts the amount of force used to drive the staple

Tried to use type 71 staples.
Tbf, I've only used this with the type 71 staples so far....but it was such a stressful experience. Approximately 1000 staples used and of those I'd say about 500 went in the bin. Jamming up or not going in straight, it was awful. Can't say what it's like for other types of staple or nail.

Really useful tool, but the description implies it can take 140 staples, which it doesn't. The package includes a selection of staples and pins anyway so not a problem

Didn't work out of the box
Just jammed up. The staples/nails gets caught as they exit. It's as if the opening for the staple to fire out of is too small.
