Sh02 is a budget friendly filament dryer.
The media could not be loaded. The Sovol SH02 Filament Dryer is a budget-friendly option for drying filament, especially if you're looking to dry two spools at once. It's easy to use with a clear touchscreen interface and pre-set drying profiles for common filament types.Pros:* Affordable: It's competitively priced compared to other dual-spool dryers.* Easy to Use: The touchscreen interface is intuitive and user-friendly.* Dual-Spool Capacity: It can dry two spools simultaneously, saving time.* Pre-set Profiles: It has pre-set drying profiles for popular filament types.Cons:* Noise Level: Some users have reported that it can be a bit noisy during operation.* Airflow Design: Some reviewers have raised concerns about the airflow design, suggesting it might not be as effective as other dryers.Overall, the Sovol SH02 is a good choice for most hobbyist 3D printing needs. If you're looking for a more powerful dryer or one with advanced features, you might want to consider other options. However, for occasional drying of standard-sized spools, the SH02 is a solid and affordable solution.

Huge improvement over the SH01 filament dryer
The media could not be loaded. Good :Temperature up to 70°CTimer up to 98 hoursModern control panelIntegral power supply (not a separate box)Bad :Noisy at first, but not after temperature has stabilizedCosts moreSo I have the original SH01 filament dryer also so I can directly compare the old and the new together.Power :SH01 48W with separate multi-voltage power supply 12V 4A 2.1mm barrel jackSH02 150W built-in power supply. The heater and fan are both more powerful so this makes sense having larger power consumption. SH02 has one built into the unit so there is only the power cable (figure of 8) requiredNoise :SH01 fan did start to rattle and become noisy after a while. It would be a cheap fan in there unfortunately.SH02's fan with the cover off is very noisy. However the lid when closed (as it should be) reduces this a lot. Whilst it is still increasing to target temperature it still is noisy. But after target reached and just maintaining temperature is relatively quiet. I could probably sleep through this. And would be quieter than a 3D printer itself. But time will tell whether the fan is of higher build quality for a longer life or notControls :SH01 only has 3 buttons which were not that intuitive.SH02's controls are somewhat flashy in comparison being touchscreen. Tapping the power button does nothing, you have to hold it down to power up & down showing an animation of display appearing (see video).Temperature :SH01 has 40/45/50°C only.SH02 has 40/45/50/55/60/65/70°C choices. You can use the presets can be chosen between PLA, TPU, PETG, ABS, ASA, PVA, PC, PA, PP which will choose recommended heat/timer settings too.Timer :SH01 can be set from 6-12 hours in 1 hour incrementsSH02 you can manually set the temperature between 40°C and 70°C and the timer between 2 hours and 98 hours. I guess for those moments when you really want to be sure the moisture is gone!Other SH02 features not on SH01There are two desiccant holders at the bottom which measure 70mm x 50mm x 10mm. The ones in the photo show the color-changing silica gel I have fit nicely. Also there is a hole at the top of the lid labeled "OPEN THIS TO LET VAPOR OUT"Other observationsI placed a thermometer/hygrometer on top of my filament whilst drying. There was a 1%-2% humidity difference between dryer display temp and my own sensor. Temperature differed by about 2°C less whilst at target temp. Despite the label at the bottom that reads "CAUTION: VOLTAGE 110V HOT ROTATING SHAFT" this is a multi-voltage device that will work on 110V or 220V in those countries. The angle of the filament holes are slightly different. It shouldn't make much of a different for placement for those that print directly from the filament dryer.ConclusionYes it costs more, but also so much more capable filament dryer. Worth the price to me.

Smart Drying, Sealed Tight, Humidity Defeated
The media could not be loaded. The Sovol SH02 filament dryer has really impressed me. Right out of the box, it feels well-made and thoughtfully designed. It heats up quickly and includes preset profiles for different filament types, which makes drying materials like PLA, PETG, or Nylon super convenient. One of the details I really appreciate is the gasket between the lid and the body—it seals the chamber properly. This is a big improvement over the Creality dryer, which is more expensive and yet just has plastic-on-plastic contact, no gasket at all.The LCD display is responsive, but it’s also very sensitive. You need to be careful not to press too hard or you’ll distort the screen, similar to pressing too hard on an old monitor. Despite that, it works well and gets the job done.I live in Florida, where humidity is always high, and I’ve actually seen this dryer bring the internal humidity down to single-digit percentages, which is impressive. That said, as the filament dries, it releases moisture into the chamber, and the built-in vent on top just isn’t big enough to handle that. I’ve found that cracking the lid briefly vents the humid air very effectively—you can see the humidity level drop almost instantly. After a few cycles of doing this, the chamber stabilizes with low humidity even with the lid fully closed. It’s like opening a bathroom door after a hot shower—once you let the steam out, the environment inside resets.Overall, I think Sovol nailed it with this dryer. With a bit of manual venting, it delivers performance that rivals or beats more expensive options. It’s a solid buy, especially if you deal with high humidity.

Amazing Filament dryer with surprising results
I've been told over the years that I needed to buy a filament dryer but I've resisted due to cost and only being able to dry one spot at a time but now that I've gotten this one I wish I would have gotten one earlier . In the pictures you can see a before and after . The filament I used was some of the oldest filament that I own so I wanted to see how well it would revive it and wow was I surprised after just 8 hours @ 50c in the dryer the filament wasn't brittle anymore.ProsAble to dry a variety of materialsCan dry up to 2 spools at one timeCan print directly from the machine.Bright and easy to read, use and understand touchscreenConsI wish it came with desiccant to replace in the dryer.I wish the fan was a bit quieter.I wish the rollers to feed the filament while printing from the box were a bit more smooth .
