Great for touch-ups!
I use this product to brighten my hair color between colorings. Really makes a difference. Highly recommend!

Freshens a color job but a bit drying
I have naturally blonde hair dyed red. I've used the Celeb Luxury Gem Lites (Amber) color depositing shampoo on and off, but it leaves my hair SO DRY even after a thick treatment of conditioner :-/ I got tired of fighting the tangles and I wanted a redder refresh tint, so I got this brand in Cherry. What I noticed:1. It smells amazing2. It does dry my hair, but but nearly as much as Celeb Luxury. Conditioner easily detangled.3. You don't need to leave it on 20+ minutes I've found that what you get after 3-5 minutes is what it is, so don't waste your time letting it sit for half an hour4. This product lathers but the color doesn't seem to lather. Meaning if you lather as you apply, the color deposit seems faint. It leaves more color if you apply it like paint. I pulled out a coloring brush and would get in and under the layers of my hair and brush it down the length of my hair. If you slap it on, that's where it will stay and you'll have blotches of tint. I recommend you take a few minutes and actually apply it to sections5. A little goes a long way if you apply with purpose, even if you're applying all over your head.

Doesn’t really work
Hair felt nice and smelled great but it didn’t really revamp my red.

It doesn't leave a purple tint like darker red dyes do
The Red tends to lighten my hair to a more strawberry blonde, so I tried the Cherry to get more of an auburn. It doesn't leave a purple tint like darker red dyes do. I do NOT dye my hair, so I don't use it to lengthen already dyed hair color, and just wanted this to replace the ARTec henna rinse that I used quite a few years ago (discontinued) to just add a bit more red pop to my hair. I have orange/copper strands already naturally mixed with the brown in my hair, and it's considered 'virgin' because I don't use any product and let it air dry; it doesn't pick up dyes because it's not porous from the damage that can do.I leave a generous amount in my hair for quite a while during my bath to let it soak in as much as possible, and it DOES stay in enough to leave some color. Takes a few washes (I do not wash it every night) for it to completely come out. I wish it stayed in as well as ARTec did, but it does leave a dye in my hair. Unfortunately, it really dyes my scalp, too! I look like I have a sunburn if my hair parts. It's not a huge issue, though. As another note, it smells wonderful and is an awesome conditioner. I have long hair and do not need to use extra conditioner after washing with this to control tangles.

Some mixing of colors may be necessary
I'm a natural redhead, but my hair is fading as I get older. Salon highlights are pricey and don't last long, so I've been looking for something like this to give my hair color a boost but still look natural. I bot the RED color because the description states it is for bright red and red brown tones. I steered clear of the MARIGOLD color as I didn't want to end up with 'I Love Lucy' orange hair and I didn't want burgundy hair so I steered clear of the CHERRY color.I like the product, but the RED left burgundy highlights in my hair....I wasn't expecting that from the RED color and it did NOT look natural. I bot a bottle of the CHESTNUT and mix 2-3 parts CHESTNUT with 1 part RED, and I really like the result. I use it twice a week, and regular shampoo the other times. The shampoo does NOT appear to cover any of my white/gray hairs....just the hair that is still red. I'm not trying to look 20 years younger....I just don't want to look so faded, so I am happy with this result.

Subtle And effective color
My hair is a strawberry blonde color. I usually color it to be more red/orange but haven’t had time in a while. Started using this 2 days a week for the past 3-4 weeks and I think it’s really made my hair have more of the subtle natural red tones. My only gripe with it is that it REALLY dries out my hair. I have to use a very thick conditioner after and also leave in serum after the shower.

Good shampoo
I purchased this product to try and deepen my red color so it wouldn’t look so bright, and it does work but it does not deposit much color into your hair. I still use it but mix it with the gem lites ruby red color wash shampoo to get the red color I desire (: overall good scent & it lathers into a white color like regular shampoo so it does not stain your hands unlike the gem lites one.

Beware - Does not work on virgin hair!
This does absolutely nothing for virgin (un-treated, undamaged) hair. Zero. I tried everything. I blow dried my hair to try to open up the pores. Used hot water. Tried applying it dry after blow drying. Tried ore-washing it, blow drying, applying dry. I tried not washing with any other shampoo in between. I tried leaving it to set in for 10 min, 30min, an hour.It did absolutely nothing.I have light strawberry blonde hair. I read one other review that said they have the same color hair I do, and this turned their hair pink. I was hoping for the same result, but it did absolutely NOTHING. I went through the whole bottle.Maybe, MAYBE this works somewhat on damaged hair that takes color better. But it does NOT work on virgin hair. And the whole point for me was to NOT have to damage my hair to get some color. So, total fail. Will not be buying this again. Wish I could get my $25 back.

Red isn't the strongest
Barley works on medium to dark hair.
