I recently tried the Ruby Kisses Hydrating Lip Oil Intense Treatment Gloss, and I have to say, it's been quite a journey from initial skepticism to absolute adoration. This product certainly lives up to its "intense" billing in more ways than one.Upon first application, I was taken aback by the strong scent and taste - imagine a blend of Carmex and Tiger Balm. The intense camphor and menthol notes are definitely not for the faint of heart. The cooling (or is it burning?) sensation was initially overwhelming, making me question my choice. However, I'm glad I gave it a chance because the benefits quickly became apparent.The most impressive aspect is its hydrating power. My dry, cracking lips were transformed almost instantly. The moisture lasts for hours without excessive transfer, a rare feat for a lip product. It truly earns its title as an intense medical lip oil.As a gloss, it's equally impressive. The shine is perfect - not too goopy, but with an almost shimmery quality. What really won me over, though, is how it enhances my natural lip color. It's like it awakens my lips, bringing out a vibrant hue I didn't know I had. There might even be a slight plumping effect, though it's hard to tell if that's just the color boost creating the illusion.Interestingly, the intense cooling sensation becomes less dramatic with repeated use. I like heavier glosses that I can dab over a lip color, and that will stay in place; I also like to use them as night hydration at times. The Ruby Kisses Hydrating Lip Oil Intense Treatment Gloss works well in both these cases.I initially tried it by itself, to get a feel for the texture - it's quite thick, almost like a lip glass; but it has a mintiness to it, and lasts (IMO) longer than the usual lip glass. I then added a dab of it over a matte lippie; it gave good shine without overwhelming the lippie, and lasted without causing any bleeding of the lip color under it.Overall, I really like this lip glass; I use it at night before bed and find that it protects my lips without any drying, and I wake up with the feel of my lips having been cared for all night. The fact that you only need a little means it will last a long time. A definite keeper at a good price point.

There’s nothing natural or healing about this product. I’ll stick to aquaphor advance.

I love this gloss! It does have a bit of a medicated smell, but it tingles the lips with a minty feel to let you know its working. It adds a bit of clear shine to the lips without being over the top. It also helps to keep your chapped lips from looking raw while the ingredients work to heal. Definitely recommend.
