This external DVD drive was a Christmas gift for my child who had excitedly bought himself the Lord of the Rings DVD boxed set from a second-hand store, only to realize none of our modern computers could actually play it! Only one of our computers still has a built-in CD drive, so this little device was the perfect solution.It's been wonderful watching him dive into Middle-earth, but the real bonus has been rediscovering all those DVDs that were just sitting on our shelves collecting dust. We've had so much fun going through our old collection and adding those to family movie night.The drive works exactly as it should—plug it in, pop in a DVD, and you're good to go. Simple, reliable, and it's given new life to all those movies we thought we'd never watch again without paying for them on a streaming service.Great purchase for anyone with a DVD collection and modern computers that can't play them!

I got this for the other half it came well packed good value for money looks well made he's manged to get it to download music but unfortunately he's got a new computer but he's not been able to work out yet how to use it to listen to the music he'll get there eventually but his in his late 70s so things take a bit longer it's more human fault lol

My external DVD drive arrived promptly, well packaged, and just as expected.So far (it's only been used once to date) it has been fine, looks well-made and works 'as expected'. My one comment would be that I found the "hub" feature (i.e. using it to connect to other inputs, e.g. SD cards) rather hit-and-miss - but this wasn't a main reason for purchase.I was very appreciative of the surprise inclusion of a nice drawstring 'velvet' bag for the disk drive - most welcome!

just what I needed as my new lap top only has thunderbolt ports! Being able to not only read/write CD or DVD anywhere I go is great. Also the SD and micro SD ports will save me having another device to read that media. Plus the option to connect other USB items is another advantage.

Have had this for 3 months now. Worked well at first and then was put aside and not used for approximately 6 weeks. Kept in the nice little velvet cover, in a drawer and hot bashed about or knocked by anything during that time. Came to need it again in last few days and it is completely useless. Have now spent 3 hours troubleshooting to try and resolve and used on 2 different laptops (1x Windows 11, 1x Windows 10) as part of the fight to get it working. Given that it had previously worked on both without any problems I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the item. Clearly not the great item it is made out to be which now begs the question of how reliable the other reviews that have been left are!!!! Good luck if you risk buying this.....Oh and of course my return window has run out so I am now stuck with this piece of garbage.

Very affordable and good quality cd burner. Used this a few times now and not had a single problem. Its compact and has a sleek design and extremely easy to use.

this is awesome! it burns really fast (only audio cds i tried yet), it is indeed plug and play. i use it with a 2020 macbook pro with m1 chip. love it! and when i'm done i just put it inna drawer. lovely!

I needed a device to access some old photos that are stored on a DVD but not saved eleswhere. This did the job perfectly. It was easy to set up and worked as described, plug and go. The build quality is good for the price point and the supplier sent additional information, which was useful.
