This works as advertised, the price is excellent, and it was easy to put together with the hard drive I removed from an old, non-working laptop. It goes offline when there are sustained data transfers while directly connected to a computer. If it's connected to a USB 3 docking station, it's fast and remains consistently online.

This only took me 30 seconds to install my old hard drive into this durable case and then it was ready to go. This gave me an extra external hard drive for music, movies, etc.....

The media could not be loaded. This is a more than adequate 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure. It's very easy to use - just pull the cover off, line up the pins, make sure you push your drive in all the way, and slide the cover back on. My Windows 10 laptop had no problem recognizing my NTFS formatted SSD.Transfer speeds are not impressive, however. My Adata SU800 SSD's write speed is rated at up to 520 MB per second, but it didn't get anywhere close to that when I transferred a 3.2 GB folder from my laptop drive to the Adata, using this enclosure. The highest speed it reached was around 115 MB per second. I didn't want to be unfair and compare it to the "theoretical top speed of 5 gbps", when my SSD couldn't come close to that. But this enclosure didn't come close to the drive's possible to speed, either.The plastic is thin and flexible, but that's not necessarily bad. I think it gets the job done, and it's a very affordable option. Just don't expect very high speeds.

Works great ! Nicely made, my ssd slipped right in, and plug and play…

Works with my 2.5inch Seagate drive but requires a USB port to fully stay connected. The enclosure loses connection whenever it draws too much power during peak usage. I connected it to a powered USB hub suppling it with an extra 5v 3.0a of power and it hasn't disconnected since. Overall good for price wise only and you get what you pay for.
