Working wonders with my very vocally protective puppy
I haven’t even had this product a full week, and it’s completely turned things around. I spend a lot of time in my backyard, and my 7 month old pup loves joining me. Our backyard is bordered by four other neighbors’ backyards, with each owning at least one dog. This stirs up all the trouble, and it’s enough to drive anybody crazy.I bought the two collar/one remote pack, because I often watch my brother’s pup (my girl’s little half-sister), and I have yet to try it on her, but I’m excited based on the results I’ve seen on my dog. Both the collars and the remote are well made and sturdy. I did have to cut the collar to fit, and I recommend burning the cut edge to seal the threading. I went to charge the collars when they arrived, before checking the level as directed, and realized they came fully charged, which is always a plus.I’ve only ever had to press the button a dozen times or so. I think the sound is attention getting, but it doesn’t make her stop her nonsense and retreat, as well as the vibration does. I haven’t felt the need to do the combination of the two, and based on how well things are going, I don’t know if that need will arise. The first few times I used it, I had to use it more than once for each ‘punishment’ as she stopped a few times on her way back to me (and this was advised in the instructions). Now I only ever have to press it once, and most of the time, I just have to pick up the remote if my vocal command isn’t working, and she recognizes the sound and/or visual of me picking it up, and dashes right on over. At this point, she doesn’t even need to have the collar on, to get the message that it’s time to move on. For those of you with intelligent and stubborn dogs, this is magic.I was concerned that it might still hurt my pup, even without the shock or prongs. Luckily, it doesn’t hurt her, and I’ve never heard even a yelp of surprise. I think it genuinely just confuses and distracts her. Her reaction is usually to leave the area immediately and make her way to me.One problem arose early in use, which I think could be solved by not being as clumsy as me, or there being a lock option once you choose a power level. I had the power level set to 1, and when I went to use it for the vibrate setting, I accidentally toggled the button that lowers the power level, which made it go to the highest level (9), and I confused the living daylights out of my poor pup, on the first or second use of the vibration setting. Since being more careful and confirming better before I hit the action button, I haven’t had this problem again, but I think it’s important to be aware of. Outside of this mistake, I’ve only ever had to use level 1.Overall, I’m extremely happy and relieved to have found this product. I bought one of those ultrasonic noise flashlight devices, and it worked the first few times, but quickly became something she easily ignored, and it becomes ineffective when she’s out of range or eyesight. This works even when she’s out in the backyard, and I’m inside the house with the doors closed. I finally enjoy sitting in the backyard again, with my beautiful little lady at my side. I’m excited to see how it helps as I continue her training. Bless the makers of this product, truly.

It's pretty effective
I've tried several versions of the beep/vibrate collars, I even had one that did use shock but I hated it because it was too difficult to set the level at a low level so I didn't harm my dog.I needed to replace our current beep/vibrate collars because they got wet when they were swimming, even though they have a little cover over the port that's supposed to keep water out (it didn't work). I had had them for a while so I decided to look for a new model. These work surprisingly well with a relatively low tone even. I excepted the "beep" option to be much louder but it is pretty low yet my dog hates it, so it helps him listen to me better. He is one who will listen to me until he doesn't want to listen and wants to go chase a squirrel instead. He comes back to me often now without even beeping/buzzing, I just call his name and he comes back.We have a 2nd dog who eats stuff all the time that he's not supposed to so this is handy when we're at the dog park.My only complaint is that it beeps when you turn them on and off! So if your dogs are in the room they're going to think they did something wrong. This was an issue I had with 2 sets of my other collars too, they would beep when I would put them on the charger though, not when turning them on/off.My solution has been to just keep them on all the time. The battery life lasts surprisingly long. I could charge them every 3 weeks or so and they work fine. They only wear the collars for an hour or so when we're out or at the dog park, but I just leave them turned on all the time.

Excellant tool for training when used correctly
These tone and vibration collars do what they claim and are an excellent tool when used properly, particularly for distance training, however, purchasers need to know they need training themselves on how to use them effectively (effectively being the key), most importantly their timing, if they are to be successful. These collars have various tones to choose from as stated, however the tones themselves do not increase in volume but rather change to a different sound, except 2 and 4 which are the same. Having multiple tones really isn't necessary or effective since your dog should be conditioned to 1 tone being a "yes" (they did the task correctly) and a completely different tone meaning "nope" (not correct). The vibrations do change in the frequency (slower to faster) and this can make a difference, particularly if your dog becomes accustomed to one vibration and it's no longer effective at getting their attention. Regardless of the frequency you set the vibration to, none of them are any stronger than a regular cell phone vibration which is as it should be since the objective is to train, not hurt or frighten your dog. There is also a 3rd option which would be to use a "nope" tone with a fast vibration together, which is a strong "NOPE!" and will typically work getting their attention provided it isn't over used. We have been working on distance training for 2 weeks using this collar and it is still at a full charge. This tone and vibration collar works as it claims to when used properly. The reason I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't had it long enough to speak to its durability as yet and at this point our distance training has been within 300 ft so I am unable to confirm the distance. Definitely recommended.

Loud and Strong
I didn't love the idea of shocking my dog, but when I came across these I really wanted to try it, and I'm so glad I did! They are pretty light-weight compared to the one's with the metal prongs on them. My 40 pound dog does just fine with it on. The noise alone is enough to get her to correct what she's doing, but if needed the vibration offers a next level step for the more stubborn dogs!

Training collars
It’s a good product for training your pets. It does not hurt them since this is a non-shock collar. The different settings for the vibrating and sound are also good. I would recommend this product.
