Adjustable Steel Building Column 3"- Size Range 6'3"-6'7" 11(Ga)

I purchased a dozen of these columns and now they are holding up my 150 year old, two story brick building. They are engineered for straight forward installation, but you will need to provide solid footings and attaching hardware. Based on the results, I would anticipate that the building will be sound for another 150 years. These provide strong support at a excellent price!

I used this to replace a wood column that was supporting my roof and blocking views. I’m going to build a plinth block around the top and the bottom of it. I like it because it’s much thinner than a wooden post and I like the contemporary look in my remodeled 70s waterfront cabin.

Used the item to replace existing patio roof support. Easy to use and provides solid support. I have ordered two additional posts to replace two others. The only discrepancy was the packaging for shipment. Exposed surfaces were dinged up during transit and I had to treat exposed areas of metal prior to installation to prevent corrosion.

This worked well for replacing a termite damaged post under my house. Good quality for the price. Not top quality, as in finish quality, but it is well built for its purpose. True to size. I needed 6 feet 2 inches and it was easily adjusted to that size.

This steel support column was welded cleanly at both ends. The steel appears to be machined precisely. It’s perfectly straight, no bumps, dips, twist to the metal. The protective paint coating is uniform with no pinholes. The screw threads are cut smoothly. This lally column meets safety standards. When looking for a support column, it is extremely important that the column is structurally sound so it does not buckle under the weight. This is a column that I would buy again and again. It is very well made.

I ordered this product from Buildworx on Amazon in mid July for 31 August use in building our house foundation. The original carrier (for delivery) sent it via a "slow boat from China" (metaphorically speaking) and lost it about 26 August on the final leg of the circuitous routing all over the U.S.After contacting Buildworx and indicating my critical need for the product by 31 August, Buildworx shipped replacements the next day via FEDEX Freight Priority. It reached me 31 August, saving my project and a LOT of money!!Can't say enough good things and heap on enough appreciation for Buildworx's customer service ethic--worth its weight in gold, and I will purchase again thru them as the house build advances! On top of all this, Buildworx reps were just as nice and polite as they could be!! How novel in our society nowadays!

Originally, we ordered a different brand but the same concept from Lowe’s at 2x the price and without the convenience of getting them shipped straight to out door. We quickly canceled that when we found these and installed 3 to replace our rotted out 6x6 columns in our basement. What you’re getting value-wise is incredible. I imagine the shipping price alone has to be substantial due to the weight and sheer size. But it ships for free! I seriously don’t know how they make money on these selling at the price but I couldn’t be more impressed!

Shipped with adequate packaging but not excessive like many items. I placed a 12x16" 1/4" steel plate under it for support. Gave 5 stars for value because shipping was free (paid $76).
