The Kryptonite new York lock has 16mm hardened max-performance steel shackle resists bolt cutters and leverage attacks. Cross bar is shielded by a hardened Kryptonium steel sleeve in a double crossbar design for double security. High security anti-pick disc-style cylinder with patented double deadbolt lock with integrated sliding dustcover that protects the cylinder. Also included is the transit Flex Frame-U mount that quickly and easily and supports the transportation the u-lock. The flex Frame-U fits bicycle frame tubing 25mm to 80mm whether round, oval, triangular or square shapes. The mounting system allows for 360 degree rotation providing the ability to micro-adjust the lock angle to better fit and align with a bike frames specific geometry. This seems to me to be an upgrade in terms of material, build and quality, it has a small plastic sliding "gate"to keep dirt out of the keyhole (which was the led to the eventual demise of my Abbus). It comes with three keys (reassuring on such a tough lock), two of them are ultra small and lite in weight the third has a lED light built in that works well, although I do not use it as I like to keep things minimal and this key is a bit more bulky. Size wise, the lock is perfect, not too long or too narrow - it fits over the rim and tyre of a front wheel of a motorbike or would provide close protection for a bicycle frame against a railing - meaning lever style attacks would be difficult. I like the holder attachment, when used correctly, it works very well. I might buy a second lock for permanent placement and (the silver holder part on the U-lock can be removed which I also like). Premium look and feel. Weighty and really sturdy. The lock is able to be concealed by the sliding cover and is easy to lock/unlock. The key has a nice little light on it too. There is no way this 'bad boy' is coming off once attached - unless with a heavy duty tool and even then it will take some doing. Provides some reassurance that it will likely deter any 'would-be' opportunist. I couple it with a heavy duty chain lock too.
