Spear & Jackson 4864GB Garden Brush

I bought this to remove a slippery, slimy residue which has built up on my concrete path under a row of trees. It worked a treat. I wetted the path, applied the brush, rinsed the path and back to a pristine concrete surface.It's good to find a product that goes the extra mile in trying to improve on the standard garden brush design. The metal/hard plastic combination seems to be much more effective than the typical garden bristle brush.This has a very long and thick handle, about a foot longer than a regular house brush. I don't see the advantage in this and will probably saw 12 inches off and smooth the sawn edge to reduce the weight and increase ease of use.There have been a couple of design changes since the product photo's were taken.The handle is now held on by 2 screws, one front and one side, not just one side one as shown.The plastic/metal bristle pattern has changed to: 2 rows plastic, one metal, gap, one metal, 2 plastic, not the alternating plastic, metal as shown.Great product.

Decent quality item for a reasonable price.Slightly narrower than a standard yard brush (maybe intended to access smaller gaps) was the only reason not 5 stars.Be aware brush has wire as well as plastic bristles. Clears well but obviously not suitable for delicate jobs.Well packaged by Neill Tools.

Fantastic brush. Bought it to do the decking and discovered its amazing for scrubbing the patio as well! Got rid of the algae and grime baked onto it no problem, you still need to give it some elbow grease but the metal bristles running through the centre of the brushhead really made it easy. Excellent price and the item arrived packaged superbly and in quick time too which was appreciated. The brush itself is solid, well built and is not cheap its made with good materials. I would buy another if this one broke at any time put it that way. Ita a steal at this price delivered to your door. No standing im B&Q for 15 mins because they only have 2 tills open in the middle of summer.

Sturdy with a long stale and metal head grip. Brush isn’t too wide so perfect for paths. A bit pricy but all things gardening have gone up in price since lockdown and it’s a well know brand name for quality so you pay for the name. Would recommend.

This looks like a nicely made broom, but it has one problem. It only works when you pull the broom towards you. If you try to push the broom, it judders and jumps all over the place!

It was bought as a birthday present for my daughter's boyfriend , with other garden tools,(new home.)So can't comment , but it certainly seemed to be good + sturdy. Would buy one for myself if I need a replacement.

The head of the broom is quite small but it’s a sturdy good quality broom that does the job.

A good strong brush with a very long handle which some people may find a little too long. Good quality and expect to last a long time. Ideal for sweeping leaves and muddy paths.
