The book begins with an investigation into a death. Soon it grows into something that's far bigger, more convoluted, and nastier than one suspected. Politics, suspicion, hatred, old sins casting long shadows... Amidst all these the investigation proceeds, while the city is threatened by a leviathan from the sea. Initially it was a slow and complex read. But once it gathered pace, there was no stopping it. I would definitely look for more works belonging to this world, and our unique investigators solving more problems. In the meanwhile, this book is highly recommended.

Really enjoyed the book, both my mom and I read it. It's a fantasy-detective mix, an interesting twist to the genre. Would recommend.
