I put this around a chicken coop to keep my prey driven dog away. Works perfect and doesn’t hurt the dog like a more powerful unit would that’s designed for livestock. No complaints and having the entire kit together was so convenient.

It stopped working after one month not worth the money I paid

I needed to augment my fenced in back yard to protect against raccoons, possums, and skunks. My back yard has numerous vegetable gardens and fruit trees and the little buggers made it a nightly stop for a long time until this fence went online. It has been nearly a month and no critters have breached the yard. My application was a bit different than most because I already had a physical fence but raccoons and possums climb. So I set up a lower electrical zone (pictures) to thwart the creatures and it worked perfectly. The kit has everything you need including a waterproof box you can mount anywhere and it has a powerful pulse that effectively dissuades all of our common creature thieves. Got this all installed in a day. Just some notes:- Wires for attaching from the unit to NEG or POS perimeter wires are pretty short so take that into consideration when you mount your unit.-The ground rod is a bit short for longer distance fences... they should be deeper - like 3+ feet and may require multiple. This was less.. like 20 inches? It works for my application . We have a cat and have it automatically off during the day. Typically in summer it comes on at 9:00PM and turns off at 6:00PM the way we have it set up. This is garbage. It lasted just over one month. It has nothing to do with the grounding as sometimes is the case with these (I checked it), but the box just quit working. It has no power to it. I checked the power source and it has electricity to it, so it’s definitely the box. I wish I could get my money back I wasted on junk. At least I can use the waterproof case, but that’s a really expensive case as I now have to turn around and buy another electric fence.

This is a very powerful Fence Charger (2 joules) which has a higher electrical output than other brand Fence chargers in which many have 1/10th or even 1/20th the power. The potential is 12,000 volts . Amazingly it comes with a outdoor weather protective box but I didn't need or use it as my charger is inside my protected greenhouse on the back south side of my house. I have my charger connected up to a photocell switch so that it is only powered at night time (but I can also choose to turn it on or off manually too).I am using it along with the included aluminum wires around the gutters and above of my house where highly destructive Ratcoons (raccoons ) have been getting on the roof of my house to pry off wood pieces under aluminum vent grating to break into the attic of my house and also to attempt to break into my greenhouses on the back of my house. I had noticed some missing wood pieces on one side of my house and saw clawing on the painting of some wood on the other side of my house. I had sometimes shot and killed a few of these raccoon pests and even purchased a humane trap. I never caught any raccoon in a trap so it was a waste of money, This fence charger was the answer to the destructive raccoon problem. I heard a raccoon get zapped by the electricity and that was a satisfying sound. These nuisance animal pests are quite intelligent so it's doubtful that they will come back. I may even shut off the charger for a few months at a time as the ones who experienced getting zapped won't come back.I tested the shock on one of my hands and it gives a good jolt. I did have to purchase some extra insulators (not included) for the wiring and used some treated lumber for my construction. I did run out of wire as I needed more for the other side of my house. So I purchased an extra reel of it which was inexpensive. It's a great kit for the price. I thought that it was the best choice here on Amazon for an electric fence kit. Every second or so when in operation on the charger box the green light will click on and off about every second and there is another red LED light on the other side of it.

The set of fiberglass poles I purchased are plenty strong but rather flexible, and they bend considerably under tension from the stiff aluminum wire that was part of this kit. I have surrounded a small honeybee apiary with them; the system is working but it is difficult to balance the poles flexibility with the need to keep the wire off the ground.

About a month ago, I installed the fence energizer around a tree to prevent bears from climbing up to our deck which they frequently do. We purposely do not have stairs to the deck because our bears here in the mountains above Colorado Springs are pretty bold and quite destructive. My trail camera captured the bear just after he received a surprising nose shock. Sorry for not posting the video, but the file refuses to upload to Amazon. Haven't seen him try to climb up the tree since then so it must be working properly.

We have tried everything to keep our dogs from digging under the fence. We got desperate and ordered this, it works.
