These are the measured technical readings for the Lastar CM022
For anyone interested, a database has been created by someone who tested a whole heap of SAD lamps using a spectrometer. The results for the CM022 are as follows. CCT = 5950K (6500K is the optimal sunlight wavelength) Lux = 5,215 (a lot lower than claimed) CLA = 8,350 (higher is better from what I can gather. Best do your research on that one) M-EDI = 4,845 Glare (lux/in2) = 69 Area (in2) = 75.96 CRI = 95.9 (good) Spectrum = high peak blue with a gap between blue and green, then a lower green and slight slope towards red with a mid sloping from red to invisible (best to look at the graph). It is indeed full spectrum as claimed. At least as full as it can be using current LED methods. Waveform (would need to see the graph yourself and understand it lol) Flicker Risk 'NO RISK' (good) Flicker Index = 0.0406 (good) Flicker Depth = 21% (good but there are some that are lower). Wattage (Not shown for some reason unlike the other lamps tested) Most won't understand these readings. I personally don't either. But thought I would share these findings for those that do. The claimed LUX rating seems highly optimistic but the CLA is important (something to do with Circadian rhythm) as is flicker from what I understand. You can use a search engine to find this database just search for 'lastar sad lamp' and it comes up linked from a Reddit post 'I just finished testing over 35 SAD light therapy lamps!'. The Lastar CM022 seems like a good lamp overall. I have only just purchased it so am testing its efficacy. I like it's ease of use. The stand (non-adjustable), options/flexibility, remote and reasonable price. Hope this helps people in their purchasing decision.

It’s a great product.
I set up the SAD lamp using a smart plug, scheduled to turn on every morning at 7 AM through a mobile app. The smart plug is not included with the lamp, but it’s necessary if you want it to turn on automatically. The built-in timer on the lamp only works to turn it off and needs to be set manually each time—it does not have an option to turn itself on. I keep the lamp on my bedside, and I’ve found it to be a very effective way to start the day. It took about four weeks before I noticed a difference, and I’ve now been using it every day for seven weeks. The lamp remembers the last brightness and color settings, so when used with a smart plug, it turns on with the same settings automatically. At this point, I’m able to wake up naturally before the lamp even turns on, and I’ve noticed an improvement in both the quality of my sleep and my overall energy levels. I rarely use the included remote. I recommend using the lamp at full brightness for 15 minutes; any longer might feel too intense.

It’s perfect! Works seamlessly many hours a day, every day.
It became more than just a therapy lamp. It’s the main source of light in my bedroom (I love how is diffusing the light, have different intensities, color temperatures, remote working very well and that I can program it to turn off and I can move it around— which is good for different type of work) — plus, occasionally I use it for what it was designed for.

Worth every penny. SAD gone completely.
In December, I found myself crying for a week straight, seemingly without any reason. My neighbour suggested I might have seasonal affective disorder (SAD) due to the lack of sunlight and recommended getting a lamp. I chose this lamp because it came with a stand and several adjustable settings. I couldn’t believe it—after just two days of using the lamp, I woke up in the morning feeling like myself again. The sadness was completely gone, and I just felt normal. I use the yellow light setting, starting with 10-15 minutes and gradually increasing the time. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this product is a must-have if you suffer from seasonal depression.

Decent budget full spectrum SAD light
It's a good sturdy lamp that according to various apps seems to fulfill the specs given. When close to me the lux is around 7000, low flicker and appears to be full spectrum. Generally a decent option for a budget full spectrum SAD light

Light has amazing features! But the MAX intensity seems less . The Side by side Comparison to my 10,000 lux therapy light purchased for $250+ 2 yrs ago; this light seems less bright even though it is advertised as 12,000 lux. I would guess it is 8,000 lux. That is still bright. The lamp has great features, like yellow / amber light of varying intensities so as not to disturb you sleep cycles in the evenings , and very white light at varying intensities for focused work, a timer, perfect positioning. Height adjustment is made permanent when you put the lamp together, so you can’t adjust it up & down, during the day. Decided to keep it for all its convenient features…Will keep it ON longer to hopefully get a therapeutic effect for SADS. One wk later: i’ve been using it in the evenings at the low yellow setting. I can read and watch TV with this light setting.. i’m surprised! but I seem to be getting to sleep a lot easier than before . Changed rating to 5 stars

This light is great it reaches 10k lux min requirement for light therapy. If you don't notice the results as much I would get closer to the light. This worked so well in the future I will experiment with even higher lux lights.

For my husband, I think he likes it - hoping it helps with SAD - and it’s great for helping to see things he’s working on too!

I love this so freaking much. I got this one because an independent person on a forum type website made a post talking about these kinds of sun lamps and how bright they actually are and the wavelengths of light. I'm really pleased with the brightest option in the morning as well as different options during the day. The stand is really sturdy and I like the remote (well, liked. Don't lose your remote like me, folks! Easy for me to just reach over and turn it on in the morning, but the remote was nice when I had it lol!)

A good lamp that has a remote control, different settings and height option as well. It does help me feel more awake for my 5am wake up in the dark. I would recommend!
