This isn't perfect but it's pretty sweet for the price. It can be a wee bit clunky to change the settings and the target output voltage doesn't seem to completely match what it puts out exactly, but other than that it's been very useful. Reading back what I just said about it, I'm wondering why I like it so much; those seem like big problems, but they really haven't been. I don't need precise output voltage with this as I have a nicer power supply, and the settings persist so at least I don't have to change them often. I dunno, I just like the little guy.

* Max power without fan seems to be around 7-10W, otherwise heatsink gets quite warm to concerning hot when going higher.* There's no fan included in the variant I got, this is expected according to description* Doing a full 40W this would burn up as the small heatsink is not enough to handle that amount of power, several calculators suggest hundreds of mm in size for passive. I tried 15W for a few minutes and it got extremely hot* Controls a bit difficult to understand, but functional after a while when using it* Cycling screen allows viewing of accumulated power, current wattage, and current* Power on/off nice feature, though problematic when wanting to adjust it needs power on* Power meter useful while it has power, lost tracking when power cut

The media could not be loaded. The SK90 DC to DC converter allows inputs from 6-36VDC and can be adjusted to provide a range of 0.5 to 36VDC up to 90W or 5A . The converter is well made and measures 2x2x1" high and has a very nice backlit 1.8" display that is used to display setup and in/out parameters. This product will convert your DC input voltages either up or down , which really sets it ahead of most common converters on the market.Testing the unit , I found no " dead band" , meaning there was no Delta V between the input and outputs so you can obtain almost any output with your input within the specification. See the enclosed video showing the operation and the overall parameter status display on the bottom.There are many safety and setup parameters that can be customized including : over voltage, current, power , time and setup: brightness, shutdown, alarm, and other settings that can be customized for your specific purposes.Overall operation, quality and programmability / safety feature setup along with both boost and buck capabilities make this universal must have product if you need any type of DC voltage conversation. Would have been a solid 5 stars if sold at a slight discount price !
