Ideal replacement for plastic cartridge shavers & does the shaves immaculately - Very Good Razor !
Let me start off by saying this Pearl DE razor is simply fantastic and you'll not regret purchasing this. I have been using this Pearl DE Razor since almost a month now and am more than satisfied for the following reasons: A) It shaves PERFECTLY - its a mild razor according to me which is ideal if, like me, you have been thoroughly disappointed as of late with the quality of the shaves by plastic cartridge shaving and wish to shift to traditional shaving by double edged razor blade. B) There is absolutely no plastic involved which is good for the ecology. Steel can be reused & makes less garbage. C) Believe it or not, I used the same Gillette Wilkinson blade which comes free with this order for three weeks and the last shave was almost as good as the one by a plastic cartridge razor (or by one of those twin blades). I could have used this for a week more actually. Imagine the cost saving - there is no comparison.Besides these reasons, some friends have noticed that since four years even Gillette's twin, triple, quadruple, blades haven't been as sharp as they used to be - one needs to press much harder - & they don't last as long as they used to. I recall being very happy with the Sensor Excel twin blades but now they are mostly unavailable and replaced by some cheap blades which have an issue with alignment (hence more cuts) & they become useless in six/seven shaves whereas I could get a much better, closer shave with one DE blade for three weeks. I don't shave everyday so if I have to count it'll be 9/10 shaves with a single Gillette Wilkinson Blade from a pack of five provided with this razor.Tip for DE shave beginners: DE shaving is different than cartridge shaving. DO NOT PRESS hard on the skin while shaving. The weight of the razor itself ensures that the blade glides over the face & does it's job well. You'll avoid any unwarranted nicks/cuts this way. Since the last five shaves I've had very few nicks or no nicks at all. Being hardwired to cartridge shaving, it took me a while to adjust to DE shaving & realised DE shaving requires very little effort & gives a closer smoother satisfying shave than cartridge shaving.

Good quality safety razor!
I purchased this and I'm very happy with the quality of the product. It is a standard two piece safety razor. They shipped the product with a microfibre cloth and gilette Wilkinson sword blades(5).I liked it but the only downside was it was a little too aggressive for me. The blade alignment needs fine tuning sometimes. When compared to a Merkur 34c, it's more aggressive.!Other than that, it's a very nice product for the price. If you're an experienced user of safety razor please buy it.

The Black Beauty!
I have been wet-shaving for over a year now and am always on a lookout to try out new razors, shaving creams and brushes. This is an exceptional product, value for money, with a incredible finish and craftsmanship, and looks great in my bathroom. It’s a refined design with a pleasing look. It’s a two-piece razor meaning by, one needs to twist the bottom to un-screw the upper portion of the blade, insert the blade and screw the upper part, again, to the razor and gently twist the lower part, not too tightly. The upper part has a long bar which fits in the lower portion of the razor. This 2 piece design ( uncommon here in India but which gives a better grip to the blade) ensures that the blade fits in perfectly and is evenly balanced. Most razors in India that are sold are either butterfly ones ( twist-to-open) or 3 piece ones. The design is on the lines on the Germany’s popular Merkur 34C (that I also have) but with a longer handle and heavier, and of course at a much lower price. The grip while shaving is excellent (because of the extensive intricate design on the handle) and the unit is unlikely to slip even with slippery hands. With a gentle blade (try out the saloon pack blades that your local barber will provide you at around under a rupee) like "Vijay," or "Topaz", the shave will be gentler and this is suggested for a newbie.Experienced shavers may wish to try out blades like "Gillette," " 7 O clock," " Super-Max," or "Wilkinson."It may take some time for you to find the right combo that works for your skin so please experiment with different blades.I change my blade with every shave as, if you buy saloon packs, the amount spent on blades, in a year, comes to around Rs. 300 to Rs. 400.( Assuming you shave everyday)Indian blades are good and there is no need to go for expensive blades from abroad.I have bought a Pearl razor earlier last year and am likely to buy some more as I find that the looks are great with an eye for detail, great for wet shaving and the rates are reasonable as compared to foreign brands.
