Good size and qualityCompact design all the pieces fit inside perfectly

A lovely wooden chess set of a decent size but which is easily portable. The pieces store neatly inside the board when folded (slotted into foam and not rattling around loose) so they won’t get lost or damaged in storage or travel. Good size playing pieces nicely designed. Bought as a gift and the recipient (11 year old boy) was very pleased with it. A good price for the quality of the set.

The media could not be loaded. So plus points to this set are that it all stores away neatly and it's relatively compact.Pieces are clearly defined, as in you know what the characters are.Negatives are that this isn't quite a travel set as the pieces aren't magnetically attached to the board.Some people might notice that there are inconsistencies and imperfections on some of the chess pieces, since they are made out of wood. I personally don't mind them too much as I feel like it adds abit of character.Price point is ok for what it is.

Good set value for money

Wanted a gift for my teenage son who occasionally likes to play chess but doesn't have his own board. Struggling for present ideas I thought I'd get him a chess set. Wanted it to be a nice one as it was a gift but oh my - some of the nice ones are soooo expensive. This was absolutely perfect - a reasonable price and a lovely gift. Very pleased with this as I felt it was real value for money and he was pleased with his gift too.

First of all, let me just clarify: Yes - this is a chess board, made of wood, with all the right pieces, and reasonably finished. I'm not criticising the "game of chess" here - but I am going to take an objective view of this particular chess board...The good...* Compact and tidy - the fold-away board houses the pieces, and it's actually quite robust. It's also small - a bit bigger than a paperback book (Maybe more like a novel :-))* Quite a nice size of pieces for a compact set* The inclusion of extra queens (one of each colour) is nice!The not-so-good...* The craftsmanship is a bit shoddy for a £25 chess set (£24.99 at the time of review)... some of the pieces are a bit less detailed than others, and there's an inconsistency in manufacture. The box/ board itself is OK, but feels a little bit lightweight, and the furniture is quite flimsy.Room for improvement...* This is screaming to be a travel set... but the board and pieces are not suitable. Some improvements...* Magnet locking to keep the board FLAT - it folds too easily* Make the pieces heavier, or at least make them magnetic... this would make this a much more robust productI had a lovely wooden chess set as a kid, and I hoped this set would help me bring that magic to my daughter. Alas, it didn't hit the mark. As a comparison, we have a 'full size' plastic piece set also, that cost less than £6, and we actually prefer using that!As a project I might look at making this wooden Peradix set magnetic... that would help!

The pieces have chips of wood missing, the felt under them is not flat so they fall over. The board is scratched. Waste of money don’t buy this product much better ones available.

Le coffret est joli. Les pions ont beaucoup plu et tiennent bien dans la main d'un enfant de 8 ans.

Gutes Brett und super Figuren im praktischen reisekoffer auch für Unterwegs.

Ein kleines schönes Spiel. Die Figuren sind sicher im Schachbrett Verpackt. Man kann sie jederzeit nach dem Spielen wieder sicher verpacken. Für diesen Preis ein wirklich schon Spiel.

La scacchiera proposta da Peradix è realizzata bene e con dovizia di particolari. È interamente in legno, pezzi compresi, pur restando piuttosto leggera e compatta quando richiusa, grazie alle dimensioni di 27 x 13,5 cm. Al suo interno troveremo, ognuno al proprio posto, 34 pezzi anziché i canonici 32 poiché sono fornite 2 regine extra.Mi piacciono molto le scacchiere ripiegabili poiché, rispetto a quelle “normali”, accumulano meno polvere e si possono riporre o trasportare con più facilità. Questa di Peradix, inoltre, è perfetta anche come idea regalo grazie alla bella scatola in cui è contenuta: farete un’ottima figura con poco più di 20 euro. Consigliata!
