**Q: Does the whey used in bar manufactured using plant based rennet?**
A: (1) Milk actually contains two main types of protein, ie casein (80%) and whey (20%).

(2) Whey is found in the watery portion of milk. When cheese is produced, the fatty parts of the milk coagulate and the whey is separated from it as a byproduct (3).Whey protein is a mixture of proteins in whey, which is a byproduct of cheese production, there is no use of animal byproduct ie Rennet while deriving this whey  protein. Rennet is an enzyme used to coagulate milk, in order to form a thick curd. It is used in cheese making.
Our whey protein concentrate does not have rennet and hence it's vegetarian

A: Citric acid is not referred as a chemical preservative, it is listed in the FSSAI as a natural class one preservative like salt and vinegar.
Hence it is not listed in the preservative list and can be marked as a food additive.
Citric acid is commonly used to preserve pickles in our Indian cooking . It is used to make cottage cheese( paneer) also.
 
It is mainly found in sour fruits such as lemons and oranges. It can also be produced by fermentation of carbohydrate starches.

However, be prepared: it is remarkably sweet, tasting almost like a traditional candy bar rather than a typical supplement. ​The "Zero Sugar" Secret ​You might wonder how it stays so sweet without added table sugar. The heavy lifting is done by Sugar Alcohols and Functional Fibers: ​Maltitol: This is the primary sweetener.
