This does seem to work at least to let you know if it is diamond versus rhinestone. The instructions are missing information that almost made me return it... You need to have your finger on the metal plate and hold the item in your other hand for the metal alert to work. Using this information made the detector function properly and accurately.

It works. I’ve tested my real lab diamond earrings and blood diamond bracelets, and then I tested a cubic zirconia necklace and of course it did not pass! Great product.

This is great for you to check your jewelry. It's a great value. Not sure why the battery died so quick. It seems to be accurate.

Please don’t waste your money. I followed the instructions and my tester did not work. I was unable to return it in the usual way, which would be to go to Kohl’s. I would give them a zero star review if I could.
