I’m so happy I bought this book! I’ve been a little disappointed by the others I’ve purchased on alcohol inks but was exactly what I’ve been looking for! If you are wanting to do more than blow inks around with a blow dryer, which there are plenty of YouTube videos about, I highly recommend this book! Not only does it include a variety of different techniques that I can’t wait to try, the author includes helpful information like color charts and the effects you will create using blending solutions from various venders. I love all the examples on how to create using household items! She even has a wonderful project that shows how to salvage an ugly ink blob to create a lovely piece.I would recommend this book to both professional artists wanting to explore a new medium as well as newbies looking for a creative outlet. There is useful information for abstract and traditional artists. I’m very excited about the sections that show how to do precision work. This is something I’ve struggled with since I’ve begun experimenting with alcohol inks. I’m an abstract artist so I’m able to work with my mistakes but I’m very excited to try techniques that will allow me to enjoy the spontaneity of this medium and create with greater intention.

Just received the book today and thought it was good lots of ideas and inspiration. Some good techniques. Loads of gallery pictures from different artists but was disappointed that it did not say what techniques were used to create these paintingsOverall a good book

Der Preis des Buches hat mich erst zögern lassen, aber als ich dann bekommen hatte, war mir klar dass der Kauf sich gelohnt hat. Viele Illustrationen, super gute Anleitungen in Bezug auf benötigte Materialien und Maltechniken. In Deutschland ist Malen mit Alcohol inks noch nicht so sehr bekannt, daher ist es auch schwierig, an die Infos und Materialien zu kommen. Das Buch von Cathy Taylor kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!First the price of the book had put me off but I ordered it and having received it I realized that it is worth every penny. Very good advice and guidance how to start this art. Description of materials needed and a variety of techniques, all the information needed is in thre, with lots of pics. very recommendable!

Everything I’d hoped for and more. Great instructions and progresses step by step. Lovely book.
