The Wrong Heart

Such A Beautiful Read!
This book has so many topics and heart wrenching situations. I am someone who has not lost someone close to me and this book was able to bring out those emotions with just words. The author did such a good job with the characters and bringing forth the growing and emotional turmoil people go through when they experience a loss or trauma.Melody is really a ray of sunshine, but after losing her husband in such a tragic way she wants to end it all. To see her lowest of lows and see the climb she had to make to get back to herself was phenomenal. Meeting Parker was so unexpected and exactly what she needed. Parker needed it just as bad, someone so traumatized by his past, he needed her to bring him into the person he needed to become. This is a book I wish I could read for the first time again! I’m not an overly emotional person when reading, but this book had me crying at certain chapters due to the overwhelming emotional response the author evoked from her words. Such a beautifully written story!

A Meant To Be Dark (ish) Love Story With a Powerful Twist
The Wrong Heart is a beautiful story of love, growth, fate, heartache, karmic connections, secrets, serendipity, pain, healing, yearning, discomfort, surrender, arrested development, and soul-healing connections. It would almost be reductive to call this a grumpy-sunshine dynamic, but most of us would probably use those words. Both characters are in pain and navigating it differently, ultimately leading them to one another. Our MMC is loveable (even when he isn't), private, protective, and struggling, and he holds deep emotions close to his chest that most would overlook. Our FMC sees him. Really sees him. She is vulnerable, sweet, sensitive, also struggling, and in need of emotional resuscitation and the possibility of a future that was cruelly ripped away from her.The twists in this book kept on coming, and each one was stunning. I could not put it down. The journey these two characters find themselves on as their paths cross is relatable, sweet, romantic, sad, spicy, inspiring, and ultimately life-changing.This is definitely the happiest of happily ever afters; our main characters have to go on quite a journey of transformation at first. What I loved most about this story is that it captured moments when strong, loving, and resilient parts of ourselves can be revealed in moments of crisis. And we may meet a version of ourselves that we never saw coming. The epilogue of this book shook me to my core. I was not expecting it at all. It was heart-expanding and instilled a sense of sweetness and hope I could have never seen coming. If you have ever felt your story was over, doors had closed, or happiness would never come around again, this book is for you.

Great Read
This book has all the things….love, spice, loss, more love, forgiveness, over coming childhood trauma….i love how both main characters over came so much from their past and how the past was trying to mess their future up, but they were determined to not let it. There is the perfect amount of banter and spicy to keep you reading.

A Gem!
First and foremost Jennifer Hartmann is an absolute gem of an author. I've loved every book of theirs that I've read and this was no exception. I knew from the moment I started reading it that it was going to be an emotional read but it was so good. You definitely should go in to this blindly, which is what I did and I'm glad that I did. There were so many twists and emotional roller coaster moments. Parker and Melody's story is painfully beautiful yet so unforgettable.

This was a hard but beautiful read! 😭
I needed this story. I don't even have words. I literally cried through this entire book. It broke me and put me back together over and over again. I died inside for Melody and for Parker individually and felt legitimate joy the way their story progressed. That epilog was a waterworks event, but I absolutely understood it. 💔❤️🩹💖

This was great writing. Beautiful story. Not as good as still beating. Maybe if I had read this first it would have been 5 stars.
