Gorgeous...but Brown, definitely brown
This is indeed a lovely, beautifully carved sphere of some stone...but I wonder if it is actually orange moonstone. The structural appearance of the stone does not look like any moonstone I have, and there is not a trace of anything resembling orange in it. It is a lovely tan color with striations that do not look like moonstone at all.It is so pretty that of course I will keep it...just wonder what it really is. Of course I am no expert, and perhaps there is indeed a variant of moonstone that appears like this! Either way it is a beautiful thing...I did deduct one star as the color is in no way anything resembling orange...and I wanted an orange orb for a tablescape.
