Great box cutter
Ive bought two of these for work now. I like that it also has the plastic cutter tucked away on the other end. Easy to find with the color.

The best knife for retail
I've been using the S5 box knife in a retail environment for a little over 10 months now, and I can honestly say it's the best box knife I've ever used. Most of the "box activity" in my work life is simply slicing open tape seals on boxes, both to stock items and break boxes down. With the standard-issue retail box knife, you first have to slide the cover off before you cut the box open and slide the cover back on after you're finished. (Well, I suppose you could leave the cover off if you wanted to add a few new words to your vocabulary!) You have to do this twice with a typical box. With the S5, the attachment built into the knife above the blade eliminates the time it takes to do this as well as the possibility you'll cut yourself in the process of retracting the blade on the old-style knives. The tape cutter attachment on the S5 works on the normal Scotch tape as well as the security tape with thread shippers like Amazon use to seal boxes. You could use the blade if you wanted to—and it's certainly there if you need it—but it's not necessary most of the time.I also use the shrink wrap cutter when I'm breaking down skids. As much as I've used it, the cut is still buttery smooth and doesn't get snagged in the shrink wrap like a standard knife would. I also appreciate the fact that, having spent a lot less time getting the blades of the old-style knives snagged in shrink wrap, this has entirely eliminated the errant busted milk jug disasters as a result of blade slippage. That's at least 30 minutes of cleanup, so the S5 has actually saved me a couple hours. The shrink wrap blade on the S5 is completely sealed, so it's impossible to slice through anything.I'm also using the lanyard and knife holster with my S5, and both work perfectly until the little clip that holds the knife in the holster breaks off and the knife falls out every time you sit down. Just know if you're considering the holster that the small piece that holds the knife in will probably break off.Overall, this thing is amazing. I can't believe I'm writing such a glowing review of a box knife, nor did I ever think that would be something I'd do. That said, this thing just works, and you should get one if you work in a retail store and want something that's leaps and bounds above the knife your store will give you.

Great Durable Box Cutter
Great box cutter. I've used several different box cutters in my 15 year career in big box retail and this S5 is clearly the best. Reasonable price considering the durability and ease of use. It does use proprietary blades from the same company that are about $10 for a box of 100. I've had a box for a couple years and not even used half the blades yet. Only thing that needs improved is the integrated flip out band cutter, very difficult to extend. It needs a thumbnail detent to allow it to be pulled out easier. Also the listing shows the item is Made in USA, that is incorrect it is made in Taiwan. Overall excellent tool.

Great except film cutter
This is a great cutter that I've used for many years. It's very lightweight and comfortable to hold and use. It's easy to extend and retract the blade. It can hold a few extra blades and changing them is easy. The film cutter is very handy but is the most likely to break. It will completely snap off after about a year of use. It should be made of thicker, reinforced plastic in the middle. A replacement film cutter costs almost as much as an entire knife. The knife should come with an extra film cutter or the replacements should be much cheaper. They are easy to replace though.

Favorite box cutter
I used these box cutters for 7 years at my old job, and I loved them so much, I bought one for myself. Fits more comfortably in my hand than any other box knife. Very good grip and positive control. Cleverly designed and very functional. The tape splitter on the tip means you don’t have to dull your blade as quickly, or risk cutting yourself or whatever is inside the box. The cutter in the end of the handle is also a super handy tool for cutting nylon packing straps, shrink wrap, strings, etc. There’s a small hole in the handle if you’d like to add a tether. Blades are extremely easy to replace, and there’s a compartment to keep a spare blade handy. They may be a little pricier than other box knives, but they withstand a beating and are absolutely worth the cost!

Love this knife
Good for work. I've only had it for about 5 months but it has held up after dropping it many many times. The metal tape cutter part did bend one time (probably from me dropping it too hard) and that made it difficult to change the blade, but I was able to bend it back with a pair of pliers and it's as good as new. It's very easy to slide the blade in and out so I can use it to cut something then safely hold it in my hand with the blade down. A little tricky sometimes to change the blade but gets easier with time.
