I bought two of these 1TB Kingston NV3 drives to use as read/write cache in my NAS, and after a few days of testing, they’re performing better than expected. Installation was simple (standard M.2 2280), and both drives were recognized immediately by my NAS system.So far, they’re doing a great job handling heavy read/write activity—transfers are smooth and response times have definitely improved, especially with frequent-access files and large data sets. Hard drives and plug-in solid state drives are much slower.Remember: 1 TB of storage capacity is only 1000 GBs and most games these days take up anywhere from 60 to 120 GBs, sometimes more. So this is a starter SSD in terms of space.Compatible with any motherboard that has M.2 slots. Installs easily like other M.2 NVMe SSDs: slide it in, lock it down, and boom! Best in class data storage with best in class movement of said data as well.

I replaced a 256gb ssd in a VivoBook I bought a few years ago. It was a relatively easy, inexpensive upgrade and works great. It’s faster than the original and boots quickly after a clean Windows install.

This ssd is great, however, for its price, you might as well pay the few extra bucks for the faster 1TB version. But if you get this, it is great, its speed is good enough for gaming.

Works as advertised. I added this drive to my new mini PC (a Beelink SER5) to be my Linux drive. It loads up fast and I have plenty of room for video and music. Since it is a SSD there is no noise of course. My PC includes a heat sink for the drive and everything is running cool. Kingston is a major brand in the memory business so it should last a good while.
