I own about 2047 pens and these are my favorite! I like broadliners and these are the best. They last forever and the colors are great. I buy them as gifts with notebooks too!

Ever since discovering and loving Le Pen brand pens I have been an avid user of gel ink or marker style pens. I’ve previously tried Le Pen—a nice thin line from a capped pen—and papermate ink joy pens—click pens with a thicker line and quicker drying ink.Of the three, these Staedtler pens are the most expensive and also have the most mystifying selection of colors. Why include yellow and brown but not purple or at least a second black?These pens have a slightly thicker tip (more like ink joy’s medium tip than Le Pen) and write beautifully. The ink did not smear or end up on my hand when writing on a glossier surface nor did it bleed on a more porous paper. The pen casings are also true to color. What you see is what you get.The caps fit snugly and the triangular pen shape makes it easy to hold.My one issue—and this is a very specific issue—is that I discovered I hold pens close to the tip usually. These pens make that difficult as the very base of the pen is narrow and round to accommodate the pen tip and fitting the cap. So while it’s easy to hold the pen along the triangular shaft I realized it also required me to be much more aware of how and where I was holding the pen. I think this habit could change over time and I noticed I needed to exert much less pressure when holding these pens “properly” but I’m not sure I should have to change my entire grip for a pen. I like the Staedtler quality but feel like the triangular shape is more gimmick than anything and will be looking for other (cheaper) varieties.

I use these for sketching and marking up drawings for clarity. These don’t bleed through the cheap paper I keep on my plotter and the color selection is pretty good if you just want to keep the package on your desk.I used this today to check-off bills of material for a group of drawings that I was checking, and I can say that spending a few hours with these in my hand was perfectly fine, and maybe better than using the cheap Flair pens that I usually use for this type of work.Down side?I use colored pencils as hilighters, and these don’t write on that as well as Flair ink does. I think it has less to do with the ink and more to do with the tip. In any case, that probably won’t mayter to you, so enjoy!

I gave these to my daughter for her birthday since she was constantly stealing my nice pens out of my desk. They are AMAZING little markers. most markers RUN when they are colored with but she has been doing very detailed coloring pages on simple printer paper and they look as neat as can be without bleeding. Even her 5 year old sister has used them here and there and they don't bleed; so it's not just skill.The colors are bright and vivid and in spite of being left open once, that one is still working great; so they are definitely high quality. So far they have been used a ton for the last two weeks and are still going strong!The tip is perfect - it's not wide OR tiny but can handle the most detailed of coloring pages without feeling like you are taking forever. Really, the best markers I have ever tried!

This set of pens comes in ten colors of water based ink. The ink is not so wet that it seeps through paper. It flows smoothly and the pen tip doesn’t drag. I liked that when I crossed over previously scribed lines (dried), neither the old (bottom) or new color bled through. The tip is narrow compared to many coloring pen sets. It’s perfect for achieving precision lettering and outlining. I can attest to the “Dry Safe Technology” working for at least a period of hours. A pen that I left uncapped overnight showed was still like new in the morning (about ten hours uncapped). I’m getting a lot of use from the set and am very pleased.
