Works well to power my 240V 40A car charger.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:With this type of purchase, it's either going to work or not work.This was installed a part of a new 50A circuit from my breaker panel. It was installed by an electrician, so I can speak to how hard or easy that was compared to other similar plugs. But my electrician urged me to get a name brand outlet so I got this Leviton.And I have had this for over 6 months now and it has worked flawlessly the entire time. Everything around the plug gets a little warm, but that's expected with all that current in use.

Great For My Tesla Mobile Charger
This thing installed pretty easy, but be aware it is larger and deeper than a dryer connector so you will possibly need a larger electrical box and the cover for the plug it is not a standard size.

Needed for an EV charger
After reviewing several articles about this type of outlet for EV charging I decided on this product. It has better lugs for tightening the cable which the cheaper outlets do not have. Cheaper/lighter duty outlets can and do fail which can cause arcing and fire. A few extra bucks for peace of mind is worth it for me.

Second one worked.
First one I got was defective - one terminal would not tighten. Returned it and get another one - for some reason it also was cheaper. Second time it all worked as it should. I used Leviton SL701 wall plate, it fits well. One thought about the 75 pound inch of torque it suppose to be tightened to... I think it is very close to the breaking point of the whole thing. The plastic is flexing quite a bit. In any case it did not break. The breaker terminal is suppose to be tightened to only 28 pound inch for 6 gauge wire to compare.

Perfect EV charger.
Perfect for your car charger. Don’t spend the money on an expensive wall charger. This is all you need. I bought two others and neither one of them worked well. I finally listened to my Electrician who told me at the beginning this is all you need.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Make sure you buy this and not a dryer outlet when using for an EV.

Great for charging Tesla’s
Fixed my over heating issues. The standard 14-50 outlet was not working well with my Tesla anymore. These heavy duty ones are double the size and build better.
