Great for porches!
I purchased 2 of these. One for my back porch and another one for my front porch. Both porches are covered. These are working so well with my Wyze cams to improve night vision. It turned night into day! They have held up well and had no issues with moisture inside of them but they are in areas where they are protected so that is helping I am sure. These are made to cover a smaller area. If you have a larger area that needs coverage I would recommend getting the larger IR Lights. Very pleased with these for my purpose!

Perfect and must have for Quest 2 operation in total darkness.
Well, if you have the Oculus Quest 2 or any other VR headset that has IR tracking then this is the product for you. Basically, allow you to operate VR in total darkness (VR see the IR), so others can go to sleep. These lights are cheap and does the job very well. I point the light away from me so the light is not as strong. The reflecting IR light from walls is good enough.

Works well, but not actually waterproof
The good: I have a camera set up looking at my house from 30-40 feet away. The IR illuminator is a few feet ahead and to one side so that the camera doesn't pick up every bug that flies by (which happens when I use the camera's built-in IR LEDs). The IR illuminator lights up front of the house perfectly, looks like daylight. If you have this illuminator and you are not seeing similar results, first check that the illuminator is working at all. At night the 4 LEDs should be glowing red, bright enough to see at night. If you don't see the red LEDs either your unit is broken, your power supply is no good, or the daylight sensor is seeing too much light. Second, maybe your camera is not sensitive to this wavelength of IR. Mine's an "Amcrest UltraHD 4K (8MP) Outdoor Security IP Turret PoE Camera".The sort-of-bad: The IR LEDs glow red. This thing is not "stealth" at all, four glowing red dots in the bushes at night are pretty obvious. But this is true of most IR illuminators. The bad: It worked fine until it started raining. About a month after the first rain it died. When I disassembled it I found it was half-full of water. Further inspection showed that the connector for the wires from the power supply board to the LEDs had rotted due to being submerged in water. I cleaned everything and dried it out, then I removed the bad connector and soldered the wires directly and now its working again. I will reassemble using generous amounts of sealant in the hopes that I can make it more waterproof than it was from the factory. The front "lens ring" and the rear cable entry are the only places I see that it could have leaked. The side bracket mount holes don't seem to penetrate into the interior. Both the lens ring and the rear cable entry have rubber seals, but at least one of them (and maybe both) didn't do its job properly.I removed one star for the poor waterproofing. If you buy this I suggest you re-waterproof it before putting it out where it will get rained on.

Very well made IR Light, Clearly Visible to the Human Eye
Very well made IR Light that comes with the power adapter. Needed it to help our security camera night vision get better coverage. Was originally planning on installing it under the eave overlooking my driveway next to our security camera. Unfortunately my driveway eave is too low & the angle hitting our cars was way too bright (hitting the windshields). So I ended up putting it inside our upstairs window, looking down at our driveway at a 45 degree angle. Our security camera can now see our cars 100% better, can now view the sidewalk & part of the street too.Know that the 4 red IR lights are clearly visible to the human eye & it's not weak as most security cameras IR lights are. You can actually see it from down the street! I was worried at first about it being highly visible to everyone, but it being visible actually deterred some people from breaking into our cars recently. Our security camera showed them on the sidewalk in front of our driveway, pointing up at our window where the IR light is & moving on to our neighbors instead. The next day we found out both our next door neighbors' cars got broken into. They probably thought the IR light was a high end security camera just like our neighbors did.One thing to note about this IR Light is that the unit can get pretty warm/hot if left in direct sunlight.Seller is also very nice, knowledgeable & helpful with questions about the product too!

Dead on Arrival
Dead on arrival. I get the lamp and then wait till night when its pitch black outside. I open up the display for my night vision camera, plug in the lamp and the little green light on the power supply comes on and then I look at the display for my camera and nothing. I only see the ir light already coming from the camera. Nothing from the JC illuminator even if i point it directly at the camera, a few inches away. I tried covering the daylight sensor just in case, even though its pitch black outside, and it didn't help. I checked all the connections and wiggled the cables etc, and nothing worked. Apon closer inspection inside afterwards I noticed the film on the glass was already bubbling up, which even it it was working would probably affect performance. Not even worth the trouble to send back since I dont have a ups dropoff anywhere near me. Buyer beware.

Good purhace
Should have EU socket for powersupply.

Worked okay, broke after less than 30 hours of use.
This illuminator is just barely mediocre. The angle is not as wide as you might think, although it is bright. My unit was powered on for less than 30 hours total before the LEDs stopped working.

Works great; just point it at the ceiling to illuminate a whole room!
This one was rather simple. I purchased the JC IR 4-LED Illuminator unit. You just plug it in and it works. In close quarters it might have a bright spot or be too bright, but I am using it in a large 3-car garage. To avoid the spot, I just pointed it at the ceiling and the whole garage shows up illuminated on my Waze camera. Pointing it at the ceiling has the added benefit that you do not see the LEDs, which appear red when looking at them head-on. The fact that IR is in use is concealed if the red LEDs are not pointing at you.
