Excellent performance
This receiver delivers excellent performance at an affordable price. The design is solid and the interface basic and not overly complicated. I personally like the simplicity of the front panel, it does everything I need without being difficult for me to use. With 7.2 channel configuration, this is true surround sound for immersive audio when watching my favorite movies. It is plenty powerful to power my speakers and provide big sound. I’m using for a home theater with the HDMI inputs but it can work with other inputs as well like USB and bluetooth if I just want to play tunes. It also has auxiliary and RCA inputs, amongst others, so lot of options. Setup is pretty straightforward. Though not super high end, the performance is terrific and the price point made a great sound setup accessible to me.

HDMI Only Stereo and Only Supports PCM/LPCM
WARNING!This product does NOT have support for Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos, or DTS. HDMI inputs ONLY allow for PCM or LPCM audio encoding, and are stereo only inputs. After troubleshooting this product with extensive audio testing using multiple devices including a PS5, two PCs, a Fire Stick 4K, and ARC, I've concluded that the HDMI inputs only allow for stereo input, and that input can only accept PCM or LPCM audio encoding. Trying to enable Dolby Digital or DTS results in an electrical grinding-like noise. The only way to get true 7.1 surround is via the 7.1 RCA inputs, which limits the use for this receiver to devices that have analogue outputs (so pretty much PCs with high-end motherboards or sound cards). The means in which I've concluded this was by looking at the sound settings on both PCs that I own. When I connected my PCs to my TV through HDMI (which is a 7.1 capable device), the PC sound settings recognized it was 7.1 capable and allowed me to configure it as such. However, when connecting directly to this receiver through HDMI, the ONLY option available was stereo.I specifically bought this receiver because it was one of TWO receivers that still have 7.1 RCA analogue input, and both are by Pyle. So, in that regard, this receiver has what I wanted, but I'm disappointed that I can't use other devices and get 7.1 surround from them.Unless you're okay with using this receiver for PCs with 7.1 analogue out to actually get surround, and are okay with all 8 speakers playing the same thing when using HDMI, you're better off saving your money and getting a better receiver. This one does the job as far as giving the idea of what surround sound can offer, but you get what you pay for.

Good sound quality
This Home Theater Receiver is powerful and has transformed our tv viewing room into a movie theatre - the experience at home has become much more enjoyable getting the same movie theatre quality but in the comfort of my home. It’s quite powerful - it has 400 watts and is super easy to connect to Bluetooth. We use it for our watching movies but also we do karaoke on it when we have guests over. It has a ton of different functions like echo and delay effects which makes it a lot of fun. There are multiple input options. The user-friendly design allows me to easily switch between my devices.

It functions.
I had high hopes for this receiver and when I opened up the box and saw it, I was impressed by the look. It has a good weight to it and the finish is very nice. This receiver does work, all the inputs and outputs work as advertised. But at this price, all the major brands have contenders here, so I am not sure why you would by this. Most people are not going to set up a 7.2 system, they are going to go 5.1, Yamaha, Sony, and Pioneer as well as others all have 5.1 units at this price. And if you are going to set up a 7.2 system, you are not going to purchase this anyway. There is a noticeable hum when the volume is at 0 or between tracks of music, and it's always there. The unit I received is pretty quiet, but you can hear it at your listening position, you don't need to stick your ear to the speaker to hear it. If you push this amp to a loud level a fan turns on to cool the transistors, this is about 4X the hum noise and is very annoying. At first I thought there was something wrong with the remote control, then I realized what the problem was. They programmed the remote to sed the command on "Release" of the buttons instead of "Push". Even little credit card remotes I have with just two buttons on them all activate on push. This is a big oversight on Pyle's programmers. Other than that, I love the remote, it has all the speaker volume adjustments out where you can get to them instead of digging thru menus. Oh, wait, there are no menus. The 5 way binding posts on the back instead of push terminals are a great addition, but they are literally the worst quality I have encountered, I don't even think I can purchase ones this bad on line. I stand corrected, you can buy them, 10 pair for $8.The sound: The sound is ok. Once above the hum noise the sound has depth and some imaging, and it goes pretty loud. However, the volume knob is thin plastic and feels nasty in your hand, as well as the buttons on the front that have a cheap clunk to them. I do like the fact that you can hook up a passive sub and power that with an onboard dedicated amp. You can adjust the volume of the sub independent of the main L&R but I found that leaving it at the same volume as the L&R fronts was just right. This amp has a lot of features, and on paper sounds great. They just need to up the quality of all the parts to compete with the name brands that already have quality parts in the bin to pull from. I'm not sure why Pyle is competing in this realm, in my opinion, this a a $99 amp.

price and features
I got this to replace active/passive speakers for around my pool. I keep this in a waterproof chest and the speaker wires through the handles. I’m still able to use the old 8” passive speakers and have ordered two more to round it out. Two work fine but I like a more even sound throughout the yard. Even with the two I am thrilled to say it is working great. Highly recommended because of the price and features it provides.
