comfortable fit
I ordered them for my daughter who are just starting taking the lessons. The fit is very comfortable though we didn't try them on the ice yet. The balder are already on though it looks like some sharpening is required anyway.

Beginners only not for jumps and spins
Like most parents I don’t want to spend a fortune on boots my child will grow out of quickly. Being as she is 12 and the same size as me in shoeS if she outgrows then I can use them recreationally. These are a great boot for a beginner or those starting lessons. Boots are a great fit. These are not for seasoned figure skaters or when moving to jumps and spins as the boot is softer material and will not offer as much support as boots that are more rigid materials designed to take the impact of such jumps and spins. I have bought these for my daughter Who’s doing basic moves such as glides until she moves to jumps. Great price For a basic boot and building confidence and control on the ice in the meantime. Well worth the money.

simply perfect!
I used to skate professionally many years ago, and 30 ish years later I decided go back on ice for fun with friends. I didn't want to buy an expensive pair but was concerned that non leather skates wouldn't be as comfortable. I found SFR Skates here, on Amazon, and after reading other people review, decided to get them. First of all, I couldn't be there for delivery because of family issues and all my problems were sorted by fantastic seller customer care. I was pleasantly surprised by presentation of skates when they arrived. Blades were sharpened, and the boot was roomy. I had to put an extra sole and wear a thick sock despite it's being my size.(GO for YOUR SIZE not bigger!!) They felt perfect on ice. The boot give a very good support to the ankle, they didn't hurt my feet and after 2 hours of skating I could't fault them. I will definitely recommend this skates for anybody who is fed up oh hiring dull, plastic skates which you can't bear for more then 15 min. Good value, comfortable and durable. Thank you for mine :)

Good for beginners
Blades are not the best quality (comparing to my blades). Has some small dents, fixed by sharpening. The boot is quite soft so not much support for the ankles. However, this is for my beginner son, he doesn't do jumps yet and will grow out of it soon. He says these ice skates are better than rental ones so I'm happy.

Solid, dependable and good value.
The skates arrived in a short space of time and were well packaged. I bought my usual shoe size - UK size 9 (EU 43). They are a snug fit, but I think it takes that for the boot to "grip" your foot - there's no point in your foot rattling about inside an ice skate - just my personal opinion..!! I also wear 2 pairs of socks! They did rub a bit at first, but I presume they have moulded to the shape of my feet as that's no longer an issue. I would use them once every few weeks and have had them sharpened a few times in 6 months, only because I felt they should be. Loads better than the hockey skates I had been using. I managed to pass grades 4 and 5 in them! To sum up, sturdy, durable, comfortable and good value - I'm very, very pleased with them.

Excellent boots for beginners...good support
Excellent Skates for a beginner, great support around the ankles. recommended to be sharpened (usually at ice rink), my son aged 11/12 is a clarks size 5 1/2 (adult sizing) E width, these are slightly to big at a 6 as would be expected, but with a thick ski sock they are very comfortable for him giving the right support. I am a 5 1/2 popped them on and they were very comfortable with a little spare room for toes obviously being an adult my foot is slightly wider than my sons. Hope this gives you a good guide. These look leather (not like the plastic ones in the ice rink) and after a few lessons he will get used to them (skaters have to get used to new boots, so if they are not as good at skating for a couple of weeks, the change of boots does affect performance - so a few practice sessions might be good.

Sometimes faulty blades
In my experience SFR Galaxy are generally good beginner (before jumps) cheap skates. My son completed a few levels on them. So I bought myself a pair too. My pair however turned out to have faulty blades - the central section had a completely flat 9cm segment, see the picture. I knew what to expect and talked to professionals. But if someone gets a faulty blade like that and tries to master it, it will end up in a lot of dissatisfaction and wasted joy. When the section hits the ice the blades are unable to curve, and as a result you won't be able to do smooth curves no matter how hard you try. It's very unlikely that the blades have that profile put on all skates at the factory - this would just ruin the brand. It's more likely that my blades were punched out of the end of the metal sheet without enough material to fill the form, and grinded to hide the flaw. The manufacturer likely doesn't have enough quality control in place. After reading this review, you will be able to tell if your blades are possibly faulty, which is still unlikely. If you can check that, or can show the skates to a professional, you can go ahead and buy the brand.
