Wear gloves & don't open the pod packages in your house because the stench lingers for days.
This is the very 1st product that actually works to run the moles out of your yard. Here's what you need to know that's not included in any information on the box or in the box. It really stinks, so wear gloves when you assemble the pods into the silk bags or your hands will stink for days no matter how much you wash them. Also, the pods go into the silk bags before you bury them into your lawn. Nowhere on or in the box are there any instructions except how far apart to space them. I put mine about 4-5 inches deep. The idea is when it rains it, the moisure will melt the pod & disperse the ingredients into your soil therefore running them out of your yard because they don't like the stench. I don't like the stench either. I continued to smell it on my hands & in my house more than a week later.

Moth balls
These smell like moth balls. They may be reducing some of the activity but not all of it.

More moth ball than peppermint smell.
Honestly I'm not sure how well these helped. I think these work best to deter mice from coming in. So use before you have an issue. FYI they say peppermint but all I could smell was moth balls. I put one at bottom of towel closet and our towels smelled like moth balls so keep that in mind when deciding where to put them.

Seems to work for us
I've had issues with moles living under my house for years. I feel like I get rid of one and find 3 more! I think these are working though. I haven't found any new holes in the ground and I haven't seen any moles in my yard. I will have to monitor some more for a more accurate result but so far so good!

These balls stink up the house and don't stop the mice!
These don't work! A mouse actually chewed on the cloth bag containing one of the balls - mouse poop all around it. I have the balls placed along known mouse trails and close to the places the varmints come in through. I tried them in my home and in my greenhouse - mice are still coming in and they don't even detour around the balls. Plus they make my house smell like mothballs - not pleasant!

We dropped a few of these into about a ten-by-ten-foot area. About three or four feet apart shortly before a decent rainstorm, there was some disturbed ground a day or two after the rains, and then there was no activity for about two weeks after that. Just the other day, we noticed a single track going through the center of the area and off to the neighbor’s yard. Activity in the area is at a minimum compared to other locations in our yard.We have also used the little bags and have some hanging from and around our apple trees. They seem to be reducing the number of deer that steal our apples.I will update in the future, but three stars for nowUpdate...The areas we used these are now Mole Free, solid five stars!

Doesn’t work
It’s been over a week now and I keep adding these to each of the new holes the mole is digging up in my yard. Each morning I have 2-3 new mounds to add another repellent. If anything, it’s making things worse as the mole is making new tunnels to avoid the pellets I placed in the old tunnels and this causes new mounds in my yard each morning.
