WOW!
Great kayak. Having a modular (two part) kayak allows me to fit this kayak in my midsized SUV. No roof rack. I can also easily store this kayak. The two parts of the kayak fit together quickly and are water tight. Quite the game changer which will allow a lot more people to buy a kayak. The pedal system works very well and I much prefer pedals over paddles. The rudder is effective and this kayak tracks well and moves quickly. Lots of extras are included. This kayak is a great bargain at the price. The seat is comfortable. The storage bin is easy to use. The quality is impressive.I had tried an inflatable kayak but it leaked the first time I used it. This is a study, well built kayak that is easy to use. Hobie kayaks which I have owned cost much more. Hobie should buy this company. Reel Yaks should get ready for a big demand for this innovative, high quality, pedal kayak at a great price.

Early feedback
Just received and it looks so fun. It even arrived a day sooner than expected. Can't wait to try it out.Encountered some difficulty while assembling the rudder, but as it turns out we has received a bum component. I contacted Reel Yak with a pic of our issue and they responded immediately (literally within in hour) offering to send me the new component. Huge props for great customer service!2 weeks in update: Have had it out a couple times. Transporting it is so easy, fits in the back of my SUV and is so much easier (and more secure) than heaving a full size kayak up into roof top racks. Snapping the 2 halves together is a breeze. This wasn't apparent to me beforehand, but seems obvious now - the 2 halves are themselves fully closed molded pieces, they will float on their own and water doesn't come seeping up into the assembled kayak as I had illogically wondered about beforehand. The paddle fins are super smooth and efficient to operate, they get you moving even against some wind and current.I was worried about a 9.5foot kayak feeling "small" but that wasnt the case at all. It feels very stable and is well accessorized to fit everything needed; I only added a drink holder and an anchor rope tie-off to the rail systems. You simply cannot find a better foot powered kayak anywhere near this price point. This is a really great product and I'm very happy with it!

Super Easy to Put Together
I bought this kayak because I am a woman in my 50’s and I often go camping by myself. I needed something I could get into my Skoolie and was light enough that I could carry by myself. I didn’t want to tow a trailer or bother with a roof rack. I was able to assemble the whole thing myself including the rudder no problem. I can carry each piece by myself and it fits on the bus no problem. I looked at the inflatables but I’m in Florida and we have alligators so I wanted something more substantial. I will be camping this weekend so I will update this review after I get on the water but so far I’m really impressed!Ok so I used the kayak on an all day paddle. There were several times I had to get out and portage and the kayak worked like a champ. As for standing up on it, I was able to in super shallow, and super still water. Even then, it required cat like reflexes to do so. No way could someone do much more than concentrate on balancing while standing, let alone cast a fishing Rod. That being said of the 3 of us who were kayaking together I noticed mine was much more stable than the others. This kayak is IMPRESSIVE! Awesome performance, easy to carry and assemble, and super fun. This is far and away the best purchase I’ve made for camping.

Enhance your life in a Condo
This kayak is amazing, fast, stable, comfortable, and I can take it out of the rear of my Rav4 and store it in a closet. I had tried an inflatable kayak before, it was terribly uncomfortable and overall too much work. All you have to do is place the rear half into the groove in the front half. You then snap 2 latches and in 10 seconds it is assembled. I keep a bright safety vest over the seat so that I will be more visible to boats speeding up behind me.However, my Amazon delivery was very disappointing. I was given a 12 hour window, 8:00 AM-8:00PM and I need to be present. I felt that on the delivery day I would get updates as I am used to getting. Wrong! No updates at all. My doorbell rang at 8:00PM. I had to spend the entire day waiting.

Design flaws and not for heavier person
I am 250Lb and weight capacity states 380 but this kayaks stability is lacking. Felt safer in the kayaks that you rent at lakes. I felt like I was going to tip each time i made a turn. The steering mechanism hits the seat when making right turns so you cant get the rudder to make right turns all the way. Steering mechanism also has too much play and you have to hold it down to go straight no matter how much you tighten it.

Amazing kayak for the price
So I bought this kayak because I have a Toyota Corolla now the unfortunate news is it doesn’t fit completely but it’s good enough for me!It pretty much comes with everything you need right out the box - pedal drive, rod holder, stadium chair, paddleMy paddle was bent but I just worked back into place. Putting it together was very easy - the rudder was a-little difficult but I eventually figured it out.On the water it’s really great - I’m 5’8 and 145lb and had no trouble at all. This is my first kayak so I have nothing to compare it too but I really do like it - and love that it’s two parts and fits in my house. If gives me access to to kayak fish and is made very well - and absolutely worth the price.

It's good, but some of the parts are pretty cheap / broke easily
Overall it gets the job done and the modularity is great. However, after only one use, the screw that secures the rudder guide snapped in half and is now stuck in the screw hole. No clue how to get it out and the thing is not navigable without the rudder. Very disappointed in the lack of quality for a key component of the kayak.
