Great shredder for home or businesses
Actually this is one of the better shredders I’ve bought. First thing that was noticed was the difference between this and other paper shredders in the past with how loud they are while in operation. This definitely is the best as far as quietness while it is doing its job. Portability is very easy with the addition of the roller wheels on this product. The cross-cut gives you a secure feeling once you see how well the documents have been shredded. I thought this might be on the side of being to large for the area Ì needed it to go in, but it ended up being a perfect fit for home use. I would recommend this particular shredder above several others if you are looking for a good, secure shredder.

So far so good, nice shredder not too noisy shreds really well.
Only had it a few hours. Having saved lots of personal info I didn't want to trash without shredding since my old machine died. I've gone thru enough for two bins. So far so good. I haven't tried more than 10 sheets. It slows a bit on 8 or more, but works. I'll likely keep my feeds to 6 sheets just to make it easy. Ran it practically non-stop for 30 minutes twice and no issues. Does a real nice job cross-cut shredding. Seems to match its P4 claims on shredding sizes. Shredding unit itself is quite heavy. It rolls easily on the wheels it comes with though they are on the small side. After the first bin I oiled it and it seemed quieter. Maybe it needs oiling a bit when you first get it. It is fairly quiet in any case when running. Cord is nice and long. I do think the lower part of the unit and paper bin are on the flimsy side. All a snapped together affair and the bin has some grooves/wheels to guide it in and out, but I wonder how well it will lock in place with more use. And you'll want to handle it with care as it flexes just taking it in and out and handling to empty the paper. Seem like for the price this plastic part could have been a millimeter thicker and more robust. I haven't tried credit cards or CDs. I'll keep staples and paper clips out of it. Why abuse your machine? I usually use some small bolt cutters on credit cards. Easy to snip into pieces. I'll just shred paper I think. Pretty happy, it is more powerful and shreds much smaller than my old cheap machine from Office Depot.

WOW - The absolute best shredder I've purchased!
Definitely a top notch paper shredder. During the pandemic we decided to do a bit of "Swedish death cleaning" and among the things to get rid of were a couple of 4 drawer file cabinets with every drawer stuffed. Our "current" shredder still works, but with some digging I found it is only rated for 2 minutes of shredding with 15 minutes to "cool down". Using it to clear out old records would take months at that rate (which is one reason it kept piling up). When I found this Aurora AU1210MA with a shred time of 60 minutes, I knew it would allow me shred theses files as I went through them instead of piling up papers to shred later or haul off and pay to have shredded. It is rated to shred up to 12 pages at a time for 60 minutes at a time. I generally try to feed no more than 6 pages at a time (not by counting, but just the feel of the total thickness) and also listen to the motor so I don't stress the motor or drive mechanism. It's very quiet, far quieter than any of the 5 or 6 cheaper ($50-$75) shredders we have owned with all previous ones either breaking some plastic gear or overheating and locking up (not while using, but after the fact). So the highlights why I gave this 5 stars 1 - 60 minute run time 2 - auto shut-off when the bin is full or not fully closed 3 - auto shut-off if it overheats 4 - auto shut-off if it overloads The full bin shut-off is really nice on the Aurora because what happened with most of our others was that the bin would fill, then paper would jam in the cutters and get smashed all up inside the top of the shredder which would require lots of digging, prying, and / or disassembly to clear it out. Additionally this will shred credit cards and CDs. I did shred a couple of credit cards and like the paper, it turns them into little arrows about 1/2" long x 3/16" wide with a point at one end and a forked tail at the other. I certainly hope this shredder continues to hold up because I am very satisfied and expect to get many years of service out of it.

Nice Shredder!
Just got this shredder a few hours ago and already tried it out. So far I like it a lot. Time will tell. I researched many shredders and many shredder reviews before I picked this one. This P-4 micro-cut shredder cuts paper into really small pieces. I believe it is perfectly sufficient for home security, personally identifiable info, and tax info. I have read that although P-5 is even more secure, the P-4 standard is the requirement for doctor's offices, labs, and medical information. Much quieter than what I remember from shredders of old. I am satisfied with the time required to shred a page of paper, but reserve the right to change my mind when I have a larger amount to shred at once. I have not tried shredding multiple pages at once and have not yet filled up the bin. However, I have removed and reinstalled the bin with no problems whatsoever. Some reviews have complained that the bin is somewhat flimsy, but right out of the box it is just fine. This is another thing that only time will tell. I understand that this model uses sensors to decide the bin is full when the level of shredded paper obstruct the sensor beam. I also understand that there have been some complaints about the shredder thinking the bin is full when it obviously has lots and lots of room left. I have read that paper dust can obstruct the sensor beam, so I'm prepared to try wiping off the sensors if and when that happens. I have also read that I should never manually compact the shredded pieces in the bin to try to make more room because that runs the risk of permanently damaging the sensors. Fingers crossed that this will turn out to be a really good purchase

Quiet and seemingly runs forever
I was looking for a shredder to replace my very old GBC Shredmaster strip-cut shredder, which was adequate for low security work, but left the papers easily reassembled and only ran for less than 10 minutes before needing to cool down. I chose the Aurora AU1210MA based on a recent Consumer Reports review which rated it a 70 vs. the Fellowes Powershred LX22M at 89, but the latter costs more than three times as much and only has a 30 minute run time vs. the Aurora's 60 minutes. The only other higher scorers were the Tru Red TR-NMC122A (scoring 72), which was about the same price and was rated slightly better for noise but it has a 5 minute run time followed by a 60 minute cool-down, and the Amazon Basics 8 sheet Microcut (scoring 71), costing quite a bit less, but it also has a 5 minute run time (with a 30 minute recovery period). The Aurora arrived very well-packaged in a sturdy box with tight-fitting cardboard inserts that completely protected it from damage. It was not inside of a second box, and there was no need for one. It was easy to assemble and was more compact than I expected it to be. It weighs about 22 lbs, most of which is in the shredding head. The wheels make it easy to move around. I'm not sure if it would work with shredder bags, due to the bin layout, but I'm emptying it into a 30 gallon paper lawn/leaf bag so I can meet my county's requirements for curbside recycling of shredded documents, which prohibit plastic bags. The large opening of these paper bags makes it easy to empty the bin without spilling any confetti. I've now been shredding old records containing sensitive information like Social Security numbers for several days and this is what I've noticed: the Aurora has never stopped working, despite some long shredding sessions and some thick sheafs of paper, and it has yet to jam. I've nearly filled a 30 gallon bag. It is very quiet, despite Consumer Reports rating it as a 3/5. My only minor complaint is that the bin isn't quite as sturdy as the rest of the unit, and requires a bit of care when reinstalling to make sure it is aligned properly so it will close completely. One thing I noticed from reading the owner's manual is that it can be oiled using ordinary vegetable oil -- no need to buy special purpose shredder lube or pre-treated sheets. That should save money over the long run. I've not oiled it yet, since it's just a few days old. I have shredded some stapled documents with no problems. I haven't tried any credit cards or CDs yet. I think that this shredder will give me many years of service and I'm very happy with my purchase. While I would have loved to own CR's highest-scoring unit, I couldn't justify spending around $400 for it and I really appreciate that the Aurora has the best rated endurance of any of the models I considered.

Great, fairly thick stacks, cross cuts, stays on forever
I had to shred hundreds of papers after my husband died- this was SO quick, has window to see how full bin is, easy drawer to open and empty, I had NO jams and goes easily through staples, credit cards, even CD’s. Durable, nice looking - fits next to chair, easy to carry, heavy duty yet -good home use, I. Was done much faster than I imagined. Not cheap, not high cost, yet performs perfectly. Very pleased, more than expected!

Great purchase!
Haven’t had it for long but it is being used a lot for purging years and years worth of documents. It’s been amazing, quiet, no jams, no problems and easy to empty the basket. Thus far, this has been a great purchase!

Great Shredder
I've had this shredder for a few months now and so far it has not disappointed me. It's fast and reasonably low-noise and can shred several pages at a time without difficulty. Of course it's a small shredder so the bin fills up fast, but I knew that when I bought it. It is used in a small home office with a fairly low volume of papers being shredded weekly, so my use is pretty light. I cannot say how it will hold up if you are a high-volume shredder of documents daily, but like I said, no problems thus far.

I needed a break before the shredder did!
I bought this shredder for use in a small office. We're required to keep records for seven years, so once a year there's a large pile of eight-year-old records to be shredded. Previous low-cost shredders over-heated after ten minutes and needed long cool-down periods. I decided it was time to pay more to get a shredder that would work longer. The Aurora AU1210MA was rated for 60 minutes' continuous use, and the price was acceptable. When the machine arrived, I wanted to see if the 60 minutes was for real, so I sat down with the shredder and a pile of records. 3 hours and 18 minutes later, the shredder was still going, but I'd had enough, so I congratulated the shredder on its victory and went home for supper. :-) The machine isn't too loud and runs smoothly. It ate file folders, staples and a paper clip without any trouble. I *did* find that I needed to empty the bin every15-20 minutes, and bits of electrocharged paper tended to escape as I transferred the contents of the bin to a large garbage bag. This is a minor issue, however. I'm really pleased with this shredder!

Don’t buy if you have 220v power supply
Unfortunately i am so used to products advertised on the international amazon sites having 110-240 auto switching power supply. I didn’t expect that Amazon would advertise, take payment and ship a product that is INCOMPATIBLE in the country whose amazon site i was shopping (UAE). And upon arrival i read the manual which says nothing about voltage limits. But upon receipt after reading the manual thoroughly I plugged the shredder in and POP BOOM sizzle - thats the end of my shredder. $200 plus wasted in 2 seconds. Not happy!!!!

Shred away!!
This is by far the best shredder we have ever purchased. The lower level type (cheaper ones) would stop working after a lot of shredding. The small ones do have their limitations. This machine has a good basket size, shreds paper into very small pieces, have an automatic feeder which is great, and takes quite a few sheet of paper at a time. We usually did about 6 sheets at a time as the paper we use is quite thick (states it can do 12). Its not very noisy... its a shredder so of course there is some level of noise. Have used it multiple times now and ran it close to an hour each time we used it and no jamming, overheating or stopping. Very good product and would highly recommend. (we are also applying the oil (vegetable oil) to the shredder blades as recommended in the instructions, to ensure we properly maintain it).
