Q: Are these sturdy enough where if i drilled some holes to mount xlr ports it would stay rigid?

Yes, they are very sturdy. However, it may be difficult drilling holes exactly where you want them, as the small holes will likely cause the bit to wander, unless you use a pattern to drill through.
